I don't think the prophecy of 2012 is about mass extinction or destruction, but about a shift in global consciousness. The indigo children have been incarnating for decades, and crystal spirits are now coming, these reincarnatied spirits are here to raise global awareness- reaching a point to where all religion will by superfulous, as each will treat each other with a mutual respect out of the acknowledgement of our shared humanity, the realization that we are all but one child of the great golden sun-
governments will disolve as people will no longer need laws to govern them- and a new world order of peace will develop.
Atleast thats the optimistic view.
I've heard this view a lot. I'd love to believe it, but I can't find a single prophecy to back it up. Every prophecy I've seen about 2012 is about the end of the last age, except for that cool song by "5th Dimension" from "Hair".
To the person who said the Mayan calendar has ended other times, yes and no. Ages have ended, but this is the end of what they claim is the final age.
I don't know if anything will happen in 2012. With the direction humanity seems to be heading, I doubt it'll be a worldwide enlightenment or some communist paradise. As far as "Indigo" children and "crystal" children, these children have been around for thousands of years, but people are only just now re-noticing them after the dark ages.
The Mayans were quite clear that this was the end of the final age of humankind (that doesn't mean the world ends, just the human world) and that the sun will line up with that dark nebula from which they believe a great evil comes.
