Yes, Absolutely! If a man or woman has a distance restriction, then you should state it in your profile. I never say never, however I am looking for someone I can spend time with on a regular basis...at least on the weekends.I get winks and interestes from men in other states and then do not hear from them again. Why contact someone if you have no intentions of going the distance? It's like stating you only want a slim woman...I'd pass your profile by because I know I am not what you are looking for.So if I am to far away, I'd want to know that right up front, just like every other restriction or perference. I have friends to talk to....I am on here for a potential dating partner.
You never know who you may be passing up due some mileage!

I always state that I'm looking for a man who lives in or near my city. Can't see the point in communicating with someone who lives far away, since I'm not willing to relocate, and wouldn't expect them to! Too risky! What if it doesn't work out?

The mileage thing you can clear up in the first chats. If you are willing to communicate with someone from afar, that is great and there is alot of folks I would like to chat with in Europe or South America. Why, I have lived there. If you are limiting your search, then you are limiting your prespective. I normally chat with someone I might see at no more than a 100 miles. If it is purely platonic friendship, the sky is the limit.

I think you should. Realitically because I am from Rhode Island, . the smallest state in the union It takes 45 minutes to cross the entire state from the tip to Massachussetts or Connecticut. I am a tri-state dater. And this is true of most people from these three states do the same for work and dating. Seems to me 3 states should be enough territory to
cover. If I lived in a big state, I would limit to a number of surrounding cities or towns.
