our group has 556 members as of Sunday Feb 2, 2008...245 men and 311 women and of course this includes people i think from canada too ...Has anyone taken notice of this--let's say there is 556 members and there are 50 states that's about 11 per state and is that really many if you stop and think about it (knowing some states just have more then others anyhow)--when you go into groups you can view members by men / by woman/ by total but it comes to 556 and i know canada is counted too here in this total..one thing for sure esp for people using this site to meet someone some of our standards have to be lowered and at the same time this site still has many growing pains--there are people perhaps here in the 50s group who may be interested in the next group younger but that's just fine but think of it again: 50 states goes in 556 like 11 times and even less if canadians are part of this mixture--
I ask how can anyone get this count to go up at least double--I say get one member you know outside of DU, not here yet to join and that becomes around 1100 and what if those new people find someone too--this place (our age group) can multiply like some animals do, but in a good way...lol
anyone esle see this themselves and know of ways to get the enrollment here higher--please post...

I noticed the red letters above the title line, and it was interesting to see the individual pictures posted that are members of that group. You can look at the men and women as I recall as separate lists.
A great addition to DH. I noticed it last Wednesday or Thursday.

sorp, I did not know we could view the entire group. Interesting! I have told several about DU, but they were not in this age group. Sometimes when I get an email on another site, still on two, but not a paying member. Anyway I answer them with why don't you join DU. I only check messages "here" two or three times a month. Also tell them about all of you and how much fun this is and "interesting" when not a fun subject.
More women than men, I think I already knew that. did not realize the small numbers.
Sorp, there are many in our age group that do not join in the posts, many with no pictures, dozens look at my profile in a week or less. Sometimes I send and invite to the forms if they wink or email me. Just not messing with someone I can't see or talk with.

funny thing it keeps changing on page one of that list, to who's posting next--if someone has not posted in a long time they drop to pages back further--so if you're not seeing someone not posting you can check it from this list--

I noticed it the other day. I think it's great!!!! I'm glad Dustin did this. You can also see if that person is on line or not.   It's amazing how many we have, the numbers keep getting bigger and bigger, I love it!!! Here's to the member of 50+ group!!

lets get these totals up--what can we all do submitting on this thread ways to up membership here--sure some go but why not send emails starting at the end of the list telling these mebers to join us all on these threads (if each of us do then everyone may believe everyone loves everyone finally) this is a way to do that--what happens if you actually see every member actually having fun together here again one day soon...
i just went to pg 27 on that list and the last guy on that page was someone named rhobson and i just sent him an email to say to him you're missed on the threads, why not post to them the next time you're on line--hopefully he may--why not everyone do that too...and get everyone involved here on posting threads/ or just posts--

keep posting or sign on and i think you stay on the 1st two pages of the list--when you're on the later pages of that list you've been MIA probably for some time--see my prior post here for a remedy to gets others posting here--

I saw those numbers myself the other day and we are the most talkative lot of them all...
As far as posting....well, you can lead a horse to water....I think folks will post or start threads when they're most comfortable. I didn't start posting till the end of December. I couldn't tell you how long I had been on this site before doing so.
By the way, I kinda like those odds of girls vs. guys.
