I don't use the word Love callously. To me it provokes very powerful responsibility of the recipient to feel the same way. Kinda puts them on the spot if it's not felt the same way.

Personally I think if I ever say that to someone again, I will end up cutting out my own tongue. (Except to my kids)
If I hear it again..I will probably use an ice pick to rupture my own ear drum.

When I feel it I say it!! I typically reply thank you, or if it's constant telling me i tell them I know they do..........

It depends on if I am feeling the same way or not, how soon in the relationship they are saying it...etc...
If I felt it too, I would say "aww that's so sweet, I love you too sweetheart"....but if I didn't quite feel that way just yet, I would just say "aww that's so sweet, thank you sweetie".

I toss that word around A LOT! I LOVE sunrise!..Cloudless nights.. chocolate, the movie the Godfather. When leaving/before hanging up on my friends and family... But when it comes to a partner, I only use it if I am so moved to. (waaay past the bridge between friend and lover).. and when it was said to me and I wasn't moved.. a simple "thank you".
