Without war there would be no death. Do you know what that means? Without death, we would be over populated as a society, there would be chaos and disorder. You hippie meadows where you pick your flowers and write songs about smoking dope and giving it to the man, would vanish and you would have more condo's and strip malls in that place. Hey, Im into love, happines and peace, but in order to have that, you must have hate, sorrow and destruction, then you rebuild what is gone, into something that you would enjoy. PEACE,POT MICRODOT. And you should take a minute to stop and think about the words that are coming out of your mouth before you say them . Belive it or not with out the hippies of the 60s we would be with out a lot of the conviences of today . People like Bill Gates , I guessing that you use windows . I'm willing to bet that a few of the bands you listen to either , or were influanced by the hippie movement . Its because of people like you that I'm firm supporter of youthanatia and population control . Now I'm not a hippie myself , but I do understand that everyone has a place in social order . And while I chose not to live their lifestyle , they do chose to . And that is their right . You go on an do your thing Gypsy .

I still love my jeans with holes in the knees, T-shirts, and bandanas.. and my black biker Jacket is my best friend....... Guess it depends on your definition of Hippie.... Non conformists... don't have to be republicans or democrats or tree huggers people are just people.. laid back, chillen and not part of the rat race of life.. but hey we're still with it.. pay our bills take care of business and are pretty darn intellgent at the same time.. We can chew bubble gum and walk at the same time while listening to someone talk and or just hanging out...

The era of the 60's is over, hippies are an endangered species. During that period of time, history was made, more events that changed the world. Now, if you read the line "I am into happiness, peace, love and all that" but those times are now diminished to today's society. What do you see on the news? Someone giving someone a flower, yes, but not as they did in the 60's, now they place them on a corner where a child just shot by a stray bullet. Love from the "hippies" was that, love. What do you have today, some jerk-off going into an elevator, not to help her, but to beat this 90 year old woman half to death, for what, love? No, 37 dollars. That what is meant that you fight fire with fire, hate, destruction, death, in order to restore what is lost. Would we all like to go back to that time, the era? Probably most, but it's only happens when you try to revert the evil. Society is lost, people are lost, and no one knows what to do. It's very sad if you think about it, times are suppose to change for the better, but in the last, say 35-45 years, when we use to leave the door open for your neighbor, are now putting steel bars on our windows, to keep out the bad, or make ourselves prisoners of todays society? Either way you look at it, it's both the same. Sad, very sad. Understand a little more now?

gypsygirl7 Florissant, CO age: 39	My look on hippies is this... my parents were the 60's hippies, and they were what they were, to me its a way of living your life, and people have labeled it (hippie). I was also in the marine corp back when... so I get the stand up and fight. I do my best to just be a good person, Im not into the material bullshit, the laptop totting...mocha house fake intellectuals, are your boobs paid for kinda girl. I like it simple, I love to meet people who are real to themselves and to others. I've got my passions about the enviornment, music, ect... Im into nature, crafts, and groovin to great music. I truly try and experience as many beautiful things in the world as I can. I wear my hippie skirts and my hula hoop is never far behind.. then i throw on my jeans and hard hat and hit the construction site... I see hippies as people who are real, people who give a shit about others and would give you the shirt off there backs, if you are a friend in need. But were not all pot smoking, trippin, lets live under a bridge cause the man sucks, and I dont want a real job... were a little more evolved than that!! I hope!! Smiles!!! Love to all!! shannon

A hippie didn't bath, didn't work, pay bills.. or take care of business.. Yeah Pot was included in both lifestyles..... BUT.... today we perhaps outdated oldies and the newer geeration just lump them togeter.... So I'm still an ole hippie looken for some reality... like ah a real man to love, respect, and care for... the left overs of the hippie thing is I never got into the competition and the feminist stuff.... can I or could I take care of ME.. yup.. raised 4 kids..... not wtih much help from the males in our lives...... Now... I still have the kids here and there so... family is important..... but I'm getten in trouble cause people say I ain't got a life..... Well LOL... ah what is that... if it includes not doing things for other people when they need it sorry.. hippie, non conformist, or just plain a loven person.. I'm gonna be there for those around me... Must need some strong male type to take charge and limit my giving nature and keep me home barefoot but no more kids okay.. lets just look out for the ones who are already here.... they sure can use it from time to time no matter how old they get.
