i would not because i feel like someone who doesnt have a pic is hiding something....why even go on a site like this if you dont have one??? its to weird!!

I like the Ted Bundy theory and besides I was told I wouldn't get taken seriously when I was commenting on the threads until I had a photo up.................so there. I still will not waste my time..............sorry but too bad if I had to do it so can you.

LOL while reading through this topic and I noticed just how many folks were positive about talking to the dreaded "shadow" people (my words no one elses) and then there were those who were so negative about talking with the "shadows" for lack of trust. Thinking technology is the answer. Well look at many of the pics posted within these threads and you will see an abundant number of "tech" altered images.
I personally have been on the internet prior to it being released to the public domain (it was owned and used by the government first) and within those years and after it becoming public as owner and admins within many chat softwares have also seen many men and women dupe people with images of who they truely wanted to portray themselves as... But NOT who they truely were. Some have posted as much here....within this thread. However i choose within my right of being free, over the age of legal consent to all things, and an American.. do not post one....
Do i have something to hide NO! or am i dishonest, NO! in fact i have with very minor exception a vastly more detailed profile than do most on here both men and women (Gents, if you see me as someone who has visited your profile, it was to validate this statement I was verifying not trolling  )
As My profile also says hell, Im Butt-Fugly, so why would I want to burden you fine folks with having to look at my image all the time but all you darlin ladies it also qualifies the statement that they are available upon request... Since, sooo many have said to me... its the person inside, not their looks, that are important.... I don't have a pic up as more a test to see if people will read all that is said and still ask for a pic.. I have no problem delivering one... So, is the pic really that important????? Only you can answer that question and determine if i am worthy of your presence within your lives.... Go Figure!!!!!! The women always get to choose

too many prisoners in shadow that i dont want to talk to. i have a close friend who was just released from prison and all he talked about was how most prisoners think these sites are easy prey for them to scam women. he still does it today, even though hes been out for a while. it must be an addiction. they share stories and ideas on how to scam the women on here. so my advice to you ladies is to be careful talking to shadows.

I don't have a computer that is up to date. I use the computer at the local library (limited to 1.5 hours a day, when it is open and I have time to use it). To label people as "shadow" or "hiding" because they do not have a photo or dozens of photos is shallow. Many of the replies on this thread are assumptions on why someone doesn't have a photo up. I am more than just my looks, get to know me as a person. If someone dosen't want to talk or get to know me because they don't (can't/won't) see me, then that is their loss.

Yes...I have communicated with 3 without pictures posted...and would again. Each one was a bit different, but yet had valid security reasons for not posting a picture.
"Shadow #1": After we started communicating, he sent me a picture of him and his son. Many had bashed him on the forums for not having a picture and accused him of hiding something. He would make comments and people would act like he didn't have a right to answer in the way he did...because he didn't show his face. They insinuated that he may be unattractive in some way. (attraction is in the eye of the beholder...is it not?) Regardless, he is a very handsome 39 year old man (by just about anyone's "standards") with a darling young son. I think that the nature of his job is the reason he doesn't post a picture...it might not be the best thing for him to do...his employer is very specific on what is acceptable by employees...from what I've read and experiences of others. (well known company)
"Shadow #2": We communicated by email...then IM...then by phone. We became friends. He did not post a picture on the site due to his job--a very public position of authority with security risks. (it was the truth...verified) Also, he was not "technology saavy" and didn't really know how to get a picture to me except through the U.S. postal service. He was a very nice man...and although it would have been nice to have seen what he looked like...that didn't stop the friendship from developing.
"Shadow #3": He didn't post a picture for security reasons. And...I don't think he would want anyone to know who was really posting those messages...he could say whatever he wanted in any manner...anonymously. We were having a "discussion" so to speak...no friendship involved.
However...I would never arrange to meet someone who's picture I had not seen. And...I would know alot about them before I even met them. Be safe.
*Please note: I do not use the term "Shadow" in a derogatory manner....it just seemed the simplest way to communicate the above. I have nothing against people who do not have a picture posted...that's their choice. And, often...I have thought that might be the wisest decision. Hmmm...

yes and i do em too i go on personality.for real and if there super hot too cool if not but not hard eyes cool. a pix dont mean shit,it could be a old pic ,a different person you just dont know on these sights.

I personally know people who go on dating sites and post totally fake profiles and fake pictures. What you see...is not necessarily reality.
I don't put any more "faith" in someone who's picture I can see than someone who doesn't have a picture....not until their identity is verified in some way.
