I did not come to these forums to start trouble. I believe in democracy and freedom of speech. Texan53 had a legitimate question and some of you became offended. My Mother used to say: "If the shoe fits wear it." But, I did not come here to judge anyone and if that is what anyone has preceived, I also apologize for coming across that way. Sometimes, the way in which we write does not necessarily reflect what we are trying to say, and I am also guilty in that respect. So, please forgive me if I have hurt anyone here, because sometimes my words are not taken the way I intended for them to mean.
While this is off the subject to some degree, I think that all of us have our quirks, idiosyncrasies and faults. I am a perfectionist and anal about some things; especially my values, character and the principles I believe and stand up for, but I do try to give everyone the benefit of a doubt and I look for the good in others and try to overlook the bad. I am not prejudice or a bigot either, and because I claim my Native American ancestry does not mean that I hate anyone and I do not hold this generation responsible for what the white man did to the Native people, or for what the Native's did in retaliation for the suffering they endured.
I believe that we all have a right to our opinions and we have the right to disagree with one another. None of us are the same. I respect your differences and I expect you to respect mine. That is one of the problems in this world. There is not enough respect or love towards one another. The world is waxing worse and men and women's hearts are becoming colder and harder towards each other.
And, for the gentleman, Spurs, I do not begrudge you being in our country and I'm sure you have worked hard to be here, but everyone works hard who lives in the US of A, even those of us who were born and raised here, and believe me I have been all the way to the top of the ladder and down it again, so please do not assume that none of us have not worked as hard as you, especially those of us who have lived twice as long as you have.
I am also anal about learning the language and using it correctly and I agree that there are a lot of people in this country that are uneducated. The question here in this post was: "Why don't some of the people in here use spell check?" Personally, I don't see that feature offered, unless I'm just not seeing it, so maybe that is one of the reasons no one does. And, I'm also guilty of making mistakes in that department, but for the most part, I try to make my threads legibile so it is not hard to read what I am trying to relate, and, I'm so anal that if I don't know how to spell a word, or if I question its spelling, I will look it up in my dictionary. In my Cherokee language we say:
Dohiyi ale alihelitsedasdi nigohilvi: Peace and happiness always.

Sometimes we read things and we do not understand what the person meant..
The ladie in the post above is a great person and i do apologise to her once more.!!!
I do respect every thing that this country has to offer and the fact that we might dissagree on some things.
Furthermore i believe that english should be respected as language as being the reason that makes us united ,even if we have differences.
As american culture i do believe in any creation that mantains and promotes the good speech and does not include obscene words or vulgarities.
I hope i will be escused for being a hot head.
But i do stand for one thing!!
There are some serious treats out there that are pointed at the english language and i hope that we agree on that.
And good or bad as long as someone gives his best at getting better it should be not criticised.

I caint spell shirt without a r, but most folks know what I mean. As long as I can make out what someone is tring to say,its no big deal to me. I caint spell either.

Spurs, et all: Don't sweat the small stuff. Keep in mind there are young men & women spilling their blood in Afghanistan & Iraq - and for many of those brave souls, English is a second language. Many are not even American citizens, yet they are risking their lives in service to their adopted country. My son is American-born, and he has trouble spelling in email sometimes. He recently returned from his second tour of duty in Iraq. Do you think I care if he misspells a word now and then? I'm just grateful he's around to send me an email. I do think that new immigrants to America should learn English, as past immigrants have done. But let's cut each other some slack. It takes time to master a new language. Let's keep our history in perspective.
