Well that sucks but sometimes it's easier to explain things in an email rather than in person. However if she has your ring, I think you will need some face time before you get closure on this.
Do you know the song Unanswered prayers by Garth Brooks? It may help to give you some perspective and put a little sunshine in your heart.

I hate to hear how she did this. Obivious
you really liked her. Some say thank your lucky stars.
and move on. But I think she really needs help and she loves you. She definetly
needs a different therapist. No therapist would
say dump him (unless abusive) I am torn on this subject.
But the way she handled it was the best way she could.
She mite of not been able to hurt you face to face.

I never had ANYONE in my life.
A wife that got me in trouble with the law
and won't let me see my 11 year old son the normal way.
I saw him today at the Visitation Center
for a $40 payment.

Sorry you you were hurt; I have to say though it does sound like she has feelings for you but seems she is unable to trust. Perhaps there are past issues you are unaware of, or maybe you meeting the family, the ring..etc scared her but it's just too bad she doesn't have the strength to share whatever is it with you and let you help her with it. That's part of love.

I agree with a couple of others on here. I don't understand a therapist for an auto accident. I also don't understand a therapist telling someone to get rid of their support person ? (You) I have to agree with towtrk. But check back in three to four weeks and let us know if she's still alone working on her problems or has been seen around town with her "therapist" The email and asking you not to call could have been an easy way to keep the story straight. A phone call would have gave you the chance to ask questions that might have exposed the truth.
