Current rap is. When Tupac was alive his music was inspiring, same w/ M&M.
Porn is subjective, Linda Love lace was forced to do porn, If that's the case then yes. Most college girls have a porn website, are those degrading?

I mostly listen to hard core rap and I don't think so. Rappers are going to say what ever to sell a CD. I don't think any man or woman should be offended by what they have to say.

Porn has its specific market - Both men and women watch it. It is lucrative and asked for!!!! It is only degrading if it is forced or non-consentual, porn is an Exageration of the truth, a sex tool, a play thing...It's not to be taken too seriosly, if men or women believe Porn to be the bible that is their down fall.
Rap, is diverse in it's genre, the theme could be , crime, love, politics or indeed Hoe's...and yes, they do exist, and yes men can rap about them! I don't believe it to be degrading!! I can listen to rap and not take it as gospel, because I know my worth as a woman......Its those whom take rap and porn literaly that need to get a life!

Yes, at least a large majority of it . some have lyrics about doing with cheating or in anti private places and a few have degradeing slurs calling women names I know I'd be angry if someone refered to me as .YUK!!Why do females let/encourage men to call them nasty names and degrade them. I guess it goes back to respect: from others and to yourself.

All the teens take it serious and listen and what they take in they like to act on, so I think most of it is crap,

It is what it is. I've been listening to it for a long time. People shouldnt get offended by what other people say in music. If you take it serious then you need a life.
Porn as well...
those who like it...keep watching!!!
those who dont...keep ignoring!!!

The teens that take it serious are the ones who do not have role models or someone there to tell them the difference between perception and reality. I was fortunate enough to have someone like that around and know that over half of the stuff these rappers talk about today is nothing but a glorified fabrication.

I have listened to rap since I could talk, and I have yet to be a gun wielding pimp or hoe, lmao.....Its not about the music, it's about real life role models, I was fortunate enough to have a fab mother as a role model and some great male role models too, who bought me up, as opposed to 'dragged me' up. They taught me right from wrong, whilst allowing me to develop as my own person.

I feel we as parents are here to teach our children right from wrong. It isn't music or TV that should be raising our children. My daughter listens to some of that music. I would hope as a parent I have instilled enough self respect and confidence in her for her to realize that that isn't the way she wants to be treated and that it only hurts if it is the way you are. I have been called those nasty names and truthfully it doesn't bother me. I know who and what I am and don't take someone calling me a b*tch as an insult. I know I can be...........as far as the other names women are called in those music lyrics...........lets face it, some women are that way. I know that I don't fit into what they say so I take it for what it is.........lyrics and entertainment. JMO
