this crossed my mind and it seemed logical to me. When someone compliments on your looks does the words they chose to do so tell you how they are viewing you and what they want?? Like when someone tells you that you are "hott" does that mean they are a little immature and prob just want sex?? or does telling someone that they are pretty or handsome mean they are more mature and are interested in diff ways cuz it seems more respectful in the way they told you??? I think to much lol

hmmm...interesting...i never thought about like that....i would prefer a guy to say that i am pretty or gorgeous (or ugly if that may be the case) rather than listen to a guy tell me that i am hot or sexy...to tell you the truth, i am rather turned off when some guy comes up to me and says "ur hot"....i kinda think that he only has one thing in mind.....to me there is just a better ring to the words pretty, attractive and gorgeous...

anymore with all of the "slang" terms used is society..either one would work...but in stating "your hott" it gives me the impression that only physical appearance is being taken into consideration...instead of the "whole package"...im one that goes off of a person personality more than i do looks...

I totally agree...They are more likely to get a reply...If they are to say pretty, attractive, beautiful, etc...

When a guy calls me Beautiful/pretty etc.. It flatters me
When I keep hearing HOT, SEXY, MILF, etc... Yes, I think they just want sex!!

Remember this
Words aren't universal in describing what a person's actions/behavior/motives dictate
One example I will illustrate: "Hot" doesn't always mean the person is thinking sexual, he/she could mean it as a simple compliment.

Very true TheBestMan and I know you don't need acknowledgment, but I would like to add that word's plus tone inflection, facial expression, and a pinch on the ass means something entirely different...

I think this is agreat question and thought process.
This is how I deal with it. I tend to take in their age bracket..
For example most 20-30 year olds will use the term YOU are HOT.. I respond accordingly with No. kind of chilly actually today or hell yes I am hot can't you see I am sweating..
Men in their 30-40's are on the cusp alot and use the HOT.. Beautiful. and seem to be the most respectful in their compliments. Why I don't know but they are. etc etc words.
I respond to them accordingly. also..
Men 40 and up are the worst for compliments That puzzles me..
I hear more of the insulting comments from that age group that any other. I am curious why this is..
When I hear a man in his 40's -60 tell me I think you have a smile that lights up your face.. I am taking a second and third look..
But aren't we women just as guilty over the term's we use for men?
