Some of the questions on DH, seem so absurd, and so trivial to me that when I think of applying them in my own life or situations - I wonder "how do people get so off course???"
And I realize I would throw somebody's butt to the curb if they did half the things that people on DH are experiencing every day in their own world's and relationships...
Anyone else out in DH land feel this way?
To clarify this thread is regarding tolerating people's crap in your life...

Yes... the older I get the less crap I want to deal with.. so I don't. I don't have the patience to deal with the petty parts of life that a really not that important to me . I prefer to enjoy it and keep people around who do too ....JMO...

Thanks for the well thought out post tonight... Yes - I find that the better I know myself the less BS I am willing to put up with... A person who is not perfect is fine - tho it comes down can I live with certain peeves on a daily basis without them bringing me down.....
If I can live and put up with a persons short coming - and them with mine... Then we are good to go!

Makes a difference if it's crap from a stranger,
or from a close friend.
I think that most of us instinctively put up
with more crap from our friends, than we would
from a total stranger.
But, much as the OP, as I age, I do find that
I won't put up with near as much crap from
anyone in general.

I have enough crap in my own life. I don't think someone's else crap is gonna be able to fit in my life. I was told by someone that God only gives you what you can handle. I just want the simple life  ... that would be nice.

Yup, I think once you've hit a certain age it's just a normal thing. I know alot of 40 somethings who are in the "gettin too old for this crap" mode. i'm one. I use to put up with those stupid head games, but not any more...I've out grew that long time ago. Now I prefer to spend my time with 'real' people.

I don't think it's an age issue as much as a wisdom issue. When you're 18, naiive and in love, it may not occur to you NOT to put up with certain things. As you go through life, you learn about others, but you also learn about yourself, specifically, what your needs are. My needs are to not be crapped on, pretty simple. But I never would have considered being without the person I divorces last year for just that. There was no abuse, nothing serious, but a lot of apathy. Never again. I am worth so much more, and so are all of you.

i find as i get older,and hopefully wiser that there are some things i have no tolerance for.i simply refuse to put time or effort into them.smaller things such as our personal idiosyncrinicities i overlook if the person as a whole is worth it.i have also found there is no point in putting effort into things i cannot control.
