I am seeing someone from this site. I enjoy staying in touch with the "friends" that I have met here. I also enjoy posting in the threads as I am doing now. I have encouraged the guy that I am seeing to read my posts on the threads so that he can better understand what type of person I am. He does occasionally read my posts but not always. If we develop a relationship and he asks me to give up DH then I would do it for him. I think that anyone would for the right person.

I've been seeing someone NOT from this site and have changed my profile to indicate same.
DHU is a great place to come read and discuss just about anything, the selection of thread subjects is huge. The information exchange is pretty darn good. I've learned a few things here.
And yes, there are some really nice people to meet here and I believe you can never have too many friends.

My My in this day and age of the computer world and the busy hectic life we have.
Why not have friends, you get to see the beautiful faces have some laughs set up big get togethers with out playing telephone. Or sending cards by snail mail like back in the day.
People don't always have time or some people don't work the same hrs.
Also on here if you don't know the person really well do you want them to enter in to you computer (more personal)
Some people like the comfort and protection a site gives.
At least till they are comfortable.
To the PO if you feel it is too weird and don't want to share with others and prefer to be a one person friend that is your perogative as is dating people you see they still have friends here and are far away.
You can also leave a message with a picture see how your friends are doing
By the way Im at work on my sidekick just checking things out and I might add some people would be reading a newspaper or magazine doing what Im doing right now.
I guess that's all I have to say. JMO

I couldn't possibly meet and make friends with someone in southern California, Arizona and Back East somewhere except from the comfort of my computer room. Lol, especially with gas prices being what they are.

A couple still being on the site isn't no biggie, seems to me the forums are full of people simply yapping with each other, i've not seen people hitting on each other in the forums, sometimes you don't know they are or have been seeing each other until they are airing each others dirty laundry on a bunch of threads,,which is something i don't understand, that's a bunch of bullshit, and it's mostly done by scorned women not men. I had to take a peek at what the OP does here, and why she would think these forums aren't for couples? Maybe because you spend most of your time on the sex threads you would feel that way. But there are many more type of threads here that are basically just chit chat between some people who have made very good friends here, nothing wrong with that, some aren't even here too meet a significant other, just blogging basically, as long as they aren't in the sex forums with you peeps, i don't see the problem?

I originally signed up here late last Sept., but didn't start in the forums until late Feb. (and I never did anything really with trying to "find" someone on here until about mid-March or so...).
That's when I met the guy I'm involved with (he sent me a wink Mar. 10 and I wasn't able to reply back until the next day, and long story short: we began talking via IM that night, and texting, I believe, about midnight on the 12th through about 9 am that day, as well as we talked for the first time on the phone on the ?13th?). I may have my dates off by just a day (LOL).
Anyway, he has a friend or two on here, and I have MY friends on here, and we respect each other and trust each other enough to realize that it's perfectly ok to be on here for our friends (and also in MY case: these forums).
So..it's all good.
Each partner has to have total faith, trust, loyalty, honesty, etc. in the other in that each is here for that sole reason, and NOT to cheat on them, play them, etc.
So...it IS very very possible on here.
I know of a few couples on here who are either moving to be with the other partner, and/or are tying to knot, so...
Happiness DOES happen online--and even here, from the short time I've been a part of this fantastic site!

Just because people are dating doesnt mean they have made a committment. Once a mutual committment has been established and both have agreed not to date other people, then neither should be on the dating sites..jmo
