This is actually a pointless thread. It is more just to ease my mind and/or clear any misconceptions (not that it matters to anyone), so don't bother asking what the point is, 
Anyway, I typically stay away from threads that are created by obvious trolls. But, I decided.. Eh, wth, why not just have some fun with this. Plus, I was in a different state of mind at that moment.
So, I decided to have some fun with a troll (you can call it, trolling the troll) and actually got pretty close to discovering his/her ID. But, I won't go there. It doesn't matter anyway, I was just having some fun.
How can I relate this to dating? I need to avoid getting a ticket from the "wrong forum" police. Lol! I'll just ask a silly question.
Would you mind it if the person you are dating gets on the net for the sole purpose of trolling?
Feel free to talk about your experiences (doesn't have to relate to dating) with trolls.

Someone I used to date used to email women if he saw something stupid on a profile. I guess that's a form of trolling. He was bored and eventually found something more productive to do.
I think most trolls are just bored and trying to get attention. They probably don't go on to become serial killers.

To answer your question...Yes, I would mind. It's one thing to correct a missplaced thread or to bring it to their attention. Many of them may not realize their mistake. It's another thing to keep attacking them about something they can no longer control. let's say, you begin a thread and it happens to be in the wrong forum. 
The troll post the rules about being in the wrong forum, without answering the OP's question. The troll has now violated one of the rules that he is so willing to bash the OP on. They want everyone to follow the rules but don't believe that they apply to them.
For whatever reason, the troll must expect the OP to erase or delete the thread, or at least move it to it's proper forum, because the troll keeps on the attack, thinking the OP is too stupid to know how or simply is ignoring the troll. The troll must be unaware that the OP can't delete or move the thread so they continue with the attack until the OP deletes his profile. The troll then does their victory dance and carves another notch on his mouse, keyboard, notepad or phone.
Then you have the trolls who have an agenda. They may be a bitter person who has been repeatedly rejected because they are fake, or too pathetic to be able to have a meaningful relationship with anyone. They are the ones who simply enters a thread to spewout it's poison, just to create hate and discontent, for their personal entertainment.
What is wrong with this is...This is a dating site. Everyone is expected to flirt, and get the attention of those of the opposite sex. In some cases...Those of the same sex. When they do...The trolls call them Attention Wh*res. Well...Isn't that what we all are? We are all trying to get the attention of someone...Right? If not...Why are we on a dating site?
So, I'm sure you will get as many different opinions as there are people here. This was just mine.

Maybe I have done this a little..IF I got what you mean...
I have played with a scammer or two just to see what they would say or a nut job, for the same reason basically entertainment.
I even have a thread in FOC about some of the messages we get from people...
there are some real doozies out there, and I am betting some of the people on here could really add some good stories to that thread
I am thinking women tend to get more nut jobs messaging them than men... heck maybe it's cause they just get more messages than men (as a general rule)

Some people troll for different reasons.
I would mind if the person I was dating purposefully tried to be mean to others. If he likes being offensive, it would only be a matter of time before he would test my limits for negative interaction. I get plenty of negativity from people I don't know. I would rather the guy I was dating would be straight-forward or positive than a troll.

I don't mind sharing... it was hilarious.
Out of boredom I just started agreeing with all his nonsense, a friend and I were discussing him and wanted to see if we could find out what his deal was..
After about my 4th nice post agreeing with him he started emailing... and on about 6th email, he shot me his # demanding I call him asap... he was cracking up over a pic I had on my profile of a crazy squirrel standing at a patio door that a slogan read 'why don't you come out & say that shit to my face'
So I called him a few hours later, disquised my # of course... we talked and laughed and got along well until he started asking sexual questions and it sounded like he was wacking his d*ck on the phone receiver
That was a little too much for me! Mi said oweee my virgin ears and hung up. Last I have ever spoke to him on or off line.
Was a shame because he really had a good sense of humor.

So true Carbonv there are more men nut jobs trolling, have to say to my embarrassment I got sucked in by one. I'll blame the fact that I'm new to this 
This gye was laying it on thick and I bought it hook line and sinker...the men trolling are not all perverts...I'm more suspicious of the sweet talkers...the ones telling you what they know you want to hear...
Not only did I stumble across his 2nd profile just as active as the one I had been communicating with him from...then a woman I met as a result of these forums and I get to talking and what a surprise he is basically selling her the same load of crap that I bought from him....
I think I'll stick to the gym for meeting men....at least then you know what they really look like....
It's not that I mind the person trolling...looking around on here and communicating with other woman as well as me....it's when he lies about it and when faced with my question about his second profile he lied about that too...trolls....liars not so much.
My dad used to say, you can trust a thief but not a liar! Live and learn.

Yes I would. To me it says a lot about those who do it. I prefer those who are more respectful of other people. Participating in forum discussions to exchange different views and ideas is one thing but doing it solely for trolling and idiocy is ridiculous. It tends to make you understand as to why they are always online trolling 24/7...they have no outside life because no one in the real world wants to be around them.
