Background stuff - I have traveled my entire life.
My father was military so we moved regularly.
Born in Western PA,
Lived in Ohio,
Lived in Colorado Springs, CO
Lived in Auburn, NH
Lived in Honolulu, HI
Moved to Colorado Springs, CO (dad retired so we stayed)
I spent my youth mostly in Colorado waking up to see the mountains every day and doing the typical hiking, horseback riding and skiing. Pretty tough to not enjoy sitting on top of a mountain looking out over an entire valley.
Did a lot of outdoor activities growing up like,
horseback riding - used to ride almost every weekend in the Garden of the Gods during the summer
hiking, climbing – hiked and climbed throughout the mountains of CO
dirt bike racing – lots of organized and non-organized dirt bike and trail riding
skiing at all the cool Colorado places – we used to look for places to get crazy
fishing and hunting – it was CO so it was a guy thing
Went to Colorado State University – studied pre-med at first but changed degree programs a few times.
Joined the USAF traveled around the world a lot
Interests – Many different interests including
Sports – I prefer to participate but I do watch some sports
Play golf – not often enough but I really enjoy it. I’ve played throughout the US including Hawaii, some in Europe and even the Middle East.
Kayaking – I like to paddle the Potomac, Chesapeake and other local waterways
Martial arts – I have trained in multiple styles for many years. I teach Tae Kwon Do, Japanese (Okinawan) Karate, Hapkido, and self-defense. I have done many demonstrations throughout the region and still compete in area martial arts tournaments. I have trained members of several local law enforcement agencies as well as some of the federal law enforcement agencies. I really enjoy watching people grow as they learn and master new techniques.
Day trips – there are a ton of things in the DC area to see and do and I enjoy them all. Well most of them. Walks in the parks.
Movies – I really enjoy movies as an escape. I like to go to them and have an extensive collection.
Museums – I really enjoy the variety of museums in the area but not into marathon events only looking at a single item. (long story)
Music - I really enjoy concerts and have a wide range of tastes in music. I listen to everything from classical to classic rock, old time swing, modern country and just about everything in-between. The last concert I went to was Bon Jovi with Daughtry as an opening act at the Phone Booth in DC. Nickleback, Rascal Flatts, Sugarland, Led Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Eagles, Mariah Carey, and tons of other performers.
Travel – have traveled extensively
I have traveled a lot thanks to the benefactor commonly known as Uncle Sam. Well more properly, the US Air Force. To sum it up I have been throughout the Pacific, Europe, the Middle East and a lot of other places.
I’ve been to Athens, Rome, Paris, Madrid, Istanbul, Cairo, Zurich, Geneva, London and a bunch of other places in Europe and the Middle East. Some of my travels throughout the Mediterranean region came at very interesting times. Actually made it all away around the world when all trips are counted.
I spent a lot of time deployed throughout the Pacific.
I’ve been to all of the 50 US States plus some of the territories. Yes I enjoyed them all. Well South Dakota in the winter wasn’t all that fun. Winters in AK are incredibly cold when you go there from CA.
Spent 8 years living in Hawaii – 4 as a kid which was cool and 4 while in the military which was also good. Loved taking college classes on the beach.
Traveling around the world really made some of the history and geography stuff from high school and college come to life.
Other
I have tattoos. One on my right shoulder that symbolizes my time in the USAF. I have one on my left shoulder that symbolizes my study of martial arts. The other 2 are on my calves and I got them because they are fun. I'm a fan of Disney and having fun so the Fantasia Mickey is appropriate. Sylvester is just fun.
What I am looking for
Looking for someone that is nice looking, with a great personality, enjoys having fun, strong willed, adventurous, young at heart, friendly, and passionate. My ideal companion would have a passion for life, is willing to try new things, enjoys being outdoors, likes going to dinner and a movie, and would enjoy the attention of a hopeless romantic.
