yes dating is possible. the person you are dating has to understand that your children come first. some dating for single parents is on the phone or texting, time is short for me at least, so you do what yo have to to maintain the relationship

Sure is. But your kids have to always be given first consideration and priority and by that I mean that if you like someone, but your children don't, don't then try to push this guy or gal onto your kids anyway. Then there are parents that have been married a bunch of times. All that does is make it that much more difficult because now the kids no longer trust this single parent to bring home someone that they can identify with. A good rule of thumb is that if this single parent is attractive, has kids, and has been married several times already -- say away. There's a good reason why this person just can't seem to stay married, and is still single.

Sometimes a parent can stay married, but chooses not to, because no one should put up with an abusive realtionship. It is better to be a single parent and date than to stay married in an abusive relationship. And a person should not be put down for not staying married to an abusive person!

Yes, because know one should put up with it.Life is to short and know one has the time for that. No one should put up with an abusive realtionship. And there is so many ways of abusive.

So I do not think a person should be put down for not staying married if they are in an abusive relationship.
And I am a single parent, I date, but I do not bring men to my home and I never involve my children and do not plan to until I am in a relationship.

1st part-NO-2nd Part single parent and dating! there are somethings you all (with the children) can do,But YES t'ill you 2 are in a relationship you may want to keep it more on a 1-on-1. You sound like you have a good head on your sholders.

Yes it is possible, but it takes planning. I am a single parent and have been for almost 10 years. My son lives with me pretty much full time but now that he is 17 things are easier. In the past I have planned family type outings for when my son is with me on the weekends, if the lady was willing, and then regular type dates on other times. It gets even more complicated if the other person also has children.
But the bottom line is that if you really want to see the person you can work it out.

You are so right on the money on that one. It does seem as if the men just want a "quick fix". I don't know how the guys feel about the ladies, however, I mean really, you get a wink and they also send you their personal phone number to "chat". Yuck. Come on guys, dating, remember, if you're looking for sex there are sites for just that. Most of us here want long lasting relationships, I hope.

so i take it that friends with benifits can,t be a lasting relationship, the only difference is a piece of paper an someone to help with the bills, i think i like my life the way it is don,t need someone trying to boss me aroundor expecting me to help them an then they just take advantage of u , sorry ladies, when i was yunger i wanted marriage but thats not it now.sorry u think its all about sex an a one night stand.

yea, its more than possible for single parents to date. its not always easy but very doable. and whats up with the man bashing? do you really think there arent women out there also who dont have anything on their mind but sex and not interested in a relatinship. and if you do think that, you'd be in for a huge suprise. anyway....
