Revenge is stupid. If a relationship doesn't work, regardless of the circumstances, then obviously it wasn't meant to be. I'll be thankful I found out so I can move forward in my life and find the person I AM meant to be with.

It's tempting to get caught up in the "revenge" thinking. You shouldn't do that stuff to hurt your ex, but goddamn if it's not tempting. Do it for yourself and to a lesser extent for whoever you date next.

Have to admit that at the time, I tossed a few vegi's in the boxes of his shit that I left sitting outside all day in the summer heat for him to come and get. Knowing that he would take those boxes home to his parents house and store them in their basement for months before ever opening them.
But ya know... I havent really put much effort into thinking about him in months.
And even though, the fact that he went after my kid after we broke up, DOES mean that he should have police protection should we ever meet again. I dont see myself wasting very much energy plotting long term revenge against him.
Its an odd thought for me to realize that I was 31 yrs old before ever having to endure a truly bad break up. But I guess sooner or later we all get to be blessed with one!

i am involved in a VERY long distance relationship (which has challenges by nature). but because i am TRULY in love with the guy his happiness is all that really matters to me! there was a social function he had to go to recently and i felt SO GUILTY that he had to go alone. the other day i told him that if things didn't end up working out for a relationship between him and myself that i would ALWAYS be interested in what was going on his life, so if he could drop me a line from time-to-time just to let me know (if he met someone, if he got married, if he was starting a family, if he moved, if he had a new job... ANYTHING) BECAUSE loving him means WANTING to hear about his happiness (even if it would hurt my heart on one level). i would never DREAM of trying to get revenge on him! why would i want to be nasty to someone that i TRULY LOVE? i REALLY HOPE things work for us, but if not i still want to be a small part of his life from afar (e-mails or phone calls).
i have NEVER been a vengeful person!
