Cuddles saw the vet on Saturday. She'd all but quit eatting and drinking water the past few days. He found a "mass" in her abdomen and should be put to sleep this week. It's breaking my heart to do it. He said that even if he should operate, there was no guarantee that she'd be alright or have the quality of life she's had. She's over 15 years old and I've had her since she was 9 months old. She was born in Tennessee, moved to New Mexico and came back to Ohio with us in '94. Can anyone please tell me how to stop crying? I've got to go to work in the morning.

You don't have to stop crying. My Yasmin is 15 also and is having surgery on her jaw next week.
Old beloved cats are a treasure! If you can, please find a vet who will come to your house
to put her to sleep, if she hates the vet as mine does. You have been blessed with her company for
so long, what a gift! I will have Yas cremated when she passes, and have decided to donate
a sum to the SPCA in her name to help homeless cats. Blessings on you and Cuddles, and I am very
sorry for this sad news.

Please feel free to message me any time to talk about her if you wish, I love my old cat, too.

PS call in sick, forget work if you can, work will be there.

Thank you. Cuddles is at rest now. Couldn't stand to see her suffering, but how I do miss her. Still crying here, but I guess that's to be expected.

I lost "Gimp" 2 years ago. He was my best friend. It's just like losing a child. My heart goes out to you!

So sorry. I have donated 10 dollars to the local cat rescue group in Cuddles' name. It does not mean much,
I realize, but if one cat gets another day of life, another chance to be adopted, her sweet love will live on.

Thanks again. Yes, your contribution does mean something to some other poor cat without a home. I've always loved cats, but Cuddles was exceptional.

I just got a message today, from another DH member that just lost a cat. The circumstances are different, but now she has the job of telling her 4 and 6 year old daughters. My heart goes out to you all!

Thank you for caring. It's been rough, for sure, and I'm sure there will still be moments to come. I almost half expect to see her going about here doing her usual routine. Then it hits me again...

My best friend lost her old cat last month, she called me crying and crying. Now, she just adopted another
cat, but of course, no cat can replace a beloved pet. My Yas is so smart, she "talks" to me so brightly,
washes my hands and arms, sleeps with her paws around my arm. There really are those exceptional cats.

I'm so sorry... I know how you feel your Beloved friend is no longer present.
but, love is not selfish and you did not want him to suffer It took alote of
courage/and LOVE to do what you did.. I had to do it too 3yrs. ago and I still
can't look at his picture without crying.. I found him in my yard when he was
only 3wks. old and we were together for 18yrs.. We shared so much together, he
was my Beloved baby that adored me and was always near me. I have never since
had another cat that I felt such a connection,bond,LOVE..I pray to God that
when I die I can hold him again, and I have to believe that God will have mercy
and let me hold him and have him in my life again.. I pray that God will have
mercy for your broken heart and help you .. I have 2 cat's now and do love them
I will always rescue as many as I can.. But, I will forever miss my baby and keep his beloved memory locked in my heart, forever.... I'm sorry for your loss...Pray...
