I know of a few men who met pregnant women, married them, and raised the children as if he had provided the dna. Very happy and long marriages, too.
I think it doesn't always matter when it is you meet the person you love, so while I wouldn't advocate seriously searching right now, don't ignore who is out there just because you're pregnant.
I met a man while 6 months pregnant with my son years ago...I wasn't looking it just happened.This guy had no problem with it at all obviously  they are out there.

I would want to know why a pregnant women isn't already involved a serious and loving relationship with the father of the child she is carrying.

Not to be a buzz kill, but....
WhyTF are you dating if you're pregnant? Looking to make another one right away with someone else who will walk away? Unless you're putting it up for adoption, you need to screw your head on straight and not be out screwing. You obviously have no idea how much of your time a child will require or the LAST thing you would be doing right now is looking for a "companion" as you put it. A "companion" at this point will do nothing but f**k with your head as your hormones go haywire. You'll start to see this "companion" as a potential partner in all things including your child's life. Meanwhile, whatever poor schmuck falls for your "companion" deal will be absolutely clueless when you totally freak out on him.
Please concentrate on your baby. Join a support group. Don't raise another little monster for us all to contend with because you were too selfish to put your child first.

I actually met my ex-wife when she was pregnant and she let me be a dad to the little girl when she was born. I was raising her as my own but then my she decided that she actually didn't want to be married after all and then in turn would not allow me to see the little girl anymore so I say no and would recommend against it. Pregnant women are emotional and don't think about what they really need just what they want in that exact moment. And the guy gets attached to the baby, as I did and then they get ripped apart. It's a really hard thing to go thru. If it's something two people want to pursue they need to wait til after the babies born and take it from there.

My last ex was 7 months pregnant when I met her. I raised her daughter as my own for a year and a half. We are no longer together so she can focus on school and have more time for her daughter, and I can focus on my career. We still keep in contact and I still see her daughter. So yes. There is absolutely nothing wrong with dating a preggo.

Obviously some people couldnt/didn't read all of my comments. I never pushed the father away or walked away from him. He told me he didn't want a baby and cut off all contact.
I'm not talking about sleeping around or anything. I'm asking for opinions, not advertising a for a f***, thank you all very much for your concern.
As for how I got pregnant... we were in a relationship together. I always use protection, but hasn't anyone heard of a condom breaking? I'm not playing a victim. I'm as much to blame as he is. The only difference is I didn't decide to abort or run from this accident that turned into a miracle.
So to all of you out there that think I am so wrong for ASKING about dating while I'm pregnant... YOU CAN KISS MY A** because my baby and my health are my most important priorities whether you want to believe it or not. Generally the judgmental are the hypocrites anyways.

Are you honestly considering dating while being pregnant? I'm pregnant, recently single, and have no intentions on dating for at least the next 2 yrs, simply because I do have a baby on the way. I was set up on a date the other night, and cancled bc I even feel wrong about the entire situation.

I do feel wrong. I have another man's child inside of me, I'm not looking for a replacement father, I'm not looking to bang somebody else while theres clearly somebody elses sperm inside me, and bringing another man into my life at this point is not going to do anything but make matters worse... I'll have the father up my a** bc some guy he doesn't know is around his child, I'll have the stress that comes with a relationship and the stress of a baby, why add more stress?

No the father isn't dead. He disappeared after I found out I'm pregnant. I haven't heard nor seen from him in 3mos.
