I was on the ropes with that during mine. Someone explained to me that god knows your single. Besides once she left why would you care what she does unless you want her back. Then ask yourself if you would really want to go through that all again. I'd say be free of it. Life moves pretty fast.

Legally, yes. And some states will still look at it when deciding property division...
Personal opinion? If you're sure you're through, not cheating.
As a side note, it's also not smart. I know you men like to pretend you're all tough guys and unaffected by the emotional baggage, but i've seen enough bitterness oozing from the pores of a date/friend/family member to know it's just an act! Give yourself some time. Learn to like yourself again. AND FOR THE LOVE OF ALL THAT IS DATABLE, if you really can't handle taking matters into your own hands until then.... HIRE A PRO!!

I started dating while in the process of a divorce. Then again, my divorce took two years. I spent the first year just focusing on me and my family. I didn't consider it cheating because the marriage was definitely over, he had been moved out for a year, and the paperwork had been filed for awhile. I also didn't flaunt the fact that I had moved on. Good luck.

Pretty much what I was gonna say. It wasn't something I threw in my exes face. I did my own thing my own way once we decided to part ways. It was just a matter of making it legal.

My soon to be ex husband is engaged to the woman who he left me for. So, no I don't consider me married anymore. I had a time where I said no dating or sex till it was finalized. but when it felt like it was time, I had no guilt.

When you're ex is living with the skank he cheated with, then I don't think me going on dates is cheating when we went thru our divorce. I think each person needs to decide what's best for them to do. I went thru a period of no dating cause of my kids having been through so much, but you gotta move on & try to be happy in your new life. Good luck to all going through it

When we went in front of the judge for my divorce a year and a half ago my ex was doing her little talking thing and told the judge she was dating someone already. The judge changed the divorce decree to read "Plaintiff is granted the divorce for adultery" I had filed just for irreconcilable differences. So it can make a difference in what your divorce decree says if the judge says so.

After reading all the replys to the question, Truly the answer is what works best for you.
As for my answer, it would be yes, it's cheating.My reason is quite clear to me.When the judge drops the hammer it (Final).But with the understanding you have a 6 month cooling off time , if you reconsider.So leagally final is 6months,after court final.So I waited the 6 months out.My thoughts are I'd never wanted to be called a cheat.After 26 yrs not cheating, whats 6 more months??Besides that's a time, you need just for yourself , not a rebound.Anyone that has respect for you , would understand, or I would hope so.My ethics are what I have to live with.Hopefully not judge.Everyone is different.

I am currently going thru a divorce. I hope she hasn't. My heart is broken and that bothers me so much. I consider it cheating. Unless it's a divorce that was caused by cheating. I have too much respect for my wife even if she doesn't love me anymore.

My ex was so low that after I filed he started bringing his Gf with him when he was picking his daughter up for weekend visits.I don't know if it's considered cheating but he had already decided what he wanted just had to wait to be finalized got married to her 2 months later

In California, it is not illegal to have sex with another, whether you're married, separated, or in the process of divorce. There is no law against cheating.
As for religious, that depends on the individual church.
