Anyone else on here find it hard to date because you're form a smaller area? I know around here it is. I have a great job and love my home but there just aren't any guys willing to do some kind of distance related dating. Anyone else find this problem? Most guys here just aren't my type!

I guess it's one of the perks for living in a rural area. I love the country enough to stay where I am. The problem with living where I do is that it is close enough to Atlanta so ppl move here and travel to the city to work. And because of the population growth, it's a booming area for retail. Granted, we needed something more than McDs, Burger King and Arbys, we now have alot more fast food establishments with talk of Wal*Mart coming. OOoooh the traffic!

I live in a very small town too. There's not much to do around here except go to the ONE grocery store or fast food, although recently a couple of coffee shops have opened. Here's my problem: I've found several men in my area - almost within bicycling distance from my own home - on this and other online dating sites. They don't respond! I've emailed or winked at just about every man in the same part of my world, but never get a response. Go figure! Meanwhile, I've dated guys who live so far away that we have to meet somewhere in the middle and both drive about an hour to get there. What's up with that??

not only do I find it hard to date in a small town but even my state invokes the stereotype "oh you're from Oklahoma" which automatically labels me as redneck or undereducated and I assure you I am neither,so yes I feel your pain x2.

I moved from San Diego to the rural mountain location in SoCal, because I could afford to buy a home here. Now my dating life suffers badly. Unless I wanna hang out with the senior citizen at the golf course lounge, or the alcoholic toothless contractors at the pub I have minimal choices for dudes. I was out exploring at sunset, met a guy off-roading on a Monday night in May & we totally clicked. But those kind of chances are slim.

So, I resort to this box & typing endlessly to find my man.
Hoping he loves the wilderness as much as me.

NO KIDDING!

I live in a rural area and commute an hour to work in the city. As an old farm girl, I LOVE where I live and can't wait to get out of the city but if there are any single guys around here, I haven't been able to flush them out of the woods! Maybe I need to be driving the tractor to the post office? LOL!

Yes...I moved from the city to a very small town and the pickings are nil. To even have coffee or hang out with friends I have to drive for an hour. I have met someone and feel guilty everytime he comes to my house because he has to do the drive.
