Solar flares.
You can't live out here without satellite, if you want to stay connected to the world. Sometimes the local news will give warning to solar flares. I must have missed it this time. From about 5 in the afternoon till I lay my weary head down, I was experiencing abnormalities with satellite reception.
But then again, it could have been those damn North Koreans messing with our Internet.

Just heard a helicopter go over. At the coast, it would be the Coast Guard. I'm in the hills. Could mean forest fire or looking for illegal growers.

Calling for a high of 56* today. Going into next week they are calling for a wintery mix on Tuesday. I doubt we'll get it and if we do the day time temps are to be in the low 40's so we should be good. No worries.

Most days start the same. Clouds that were out over the horizon yesterday, come inland at night and hangout in the foothills. It's mostly cloudy now, but those clouds will once again find there way out there. (pointing out to sea)

8 days ago it was 61 degrees. Today the high was 21 it is 14 now and feels like 14, which is supposed to be the low for tonight.

Well, we went and did it.
We tied a record low of -9 degrees, from 1943.
Seventy two year old record.
One degree was the high today which occurred just after midnight.
At 6:10 this evening was -2 with a wind chill of -18.
Don't like freaking cold weather.

Nasty is the word. Moisture from the south pushing against the artic cold from the north and snowing. 13 degrees this morning and only going down from there. They just changed the forcast and now they are saying anywhere from 10 to 16 inches of snow. Tomorrow morning is to be 4 degrees then Wednesday morn minus 9 degrees.
The one good thing about this is that my son rec'd a call from his workplace last evening saying they were cancelling work today so he doesn't have to be on the slick roads. When it's like this you look for blessings where you can find one and the furnace is working so starting with a few positives.

14 real with 5 for wind chill. But I'm still a happy boy because I read the 10 day forecast several days ago and they predicted 40s to mid 50s, so I'll just go with that. No since being cold iffn you don't have to. I KNOW they got the earlier 10 day forecast correct. Don't they always?
