Starting over here again as my 3 year+ profile with over 17,000 posts was suddenly deleted with no explanation.
I am an old fashioned romantic. I like treating a lady like she was a queen, after all, she is the queen of my heart. I like complimenting her. Bringing her flowers regularly. I am a gentleman. Open doors. Adjust her chair. Walk on the street side of the sidewalk. What ever happened to honor and respect? If I have a lady in my life, I am completely dedicated to her.
Mainly here to stay in contact with the many old friends I have made here over the years.
Married for 42 years before cancer took her away. Widowed for 7 years. Retired from IBM after 40 years to give my wife the best home hospice that I could. Dated a couple of nice gals, but it didn't work out.

Sold my bikes when my wife was dying. She made me promise to sell them and never ride again, as her greatest fear in life was my having another wreck and not living through it. (I got lucky the first time). So, my need for speed, or my mechanical "fix" comes from hobby cars. I am pretty much an expert on Corvairs. Raced them Restored them. Showed them in car shows. and drive them as daily drivers. My big need for speed is my 1966 Plymouth Satellite with a 440 in it. Into boats as well. Tractors. If the dang thing has an internal combustion engine in it, I want to get my hands on it!
My family is of utmost importance to me. They are the reason I stay living here in Frostbite Falls, Minnesota. Have lived in several spots in the SouthEast. I also love North Carolina, having lived there for several years while working for IBM.
If I could live anywhere, it would be in Rota, Spain. Absolutely loved it there. Still in contact with others who lived there and loved it.
Don't have any interest in sports, other than motorsports. I do like Minor League baseball (St Paul Saints). I am a rabid fan of my grandkids sports. I never miss a game unless I am deathly ill.
I don't support the Vikings or Twins, as I feel they have evolved into something for the rich. Their prices have grown to the point where an average young dad can't afford to take his kids to the games. I do not like having stadiums built for billionaires using public tax dollars. That is why I like the Saint's. Good for families.
No golf. Takes too long. I have too much to do in the garage. I was a good golfer when young and in college.
Quit dancing. Not as light on my feet as my buddy Bull.
My primary entertainment is car club get togethers. Car shows. "Back to The 50's", Aircraft shows. Boat races. Also like camping, campfires, and antiquing. Visiting museums and sites in the area. Not interested in seeing the world outside of the US. I am tired of flying after 40 years of it with IBM. I like touring by car. And they have all those well placed rest stops for old folks to pull into and take their cat naps and 'all to frequent' bathroom breaks.
Love my kids and grandkids. Grandkids are God's rewards to parents for having children and letting them live. Most of mine live within 16 miles of me. I provide before and after school care for my one daughter's girls so she (single mom) can work. Nice having the youngest generation around to keep my brain sharp.
