Actually it has nothing to do with sex. The spark is about pheromones. Where yours & theirs mix & cause instant attraction. It is said that this is the same type of chemical reaction that happens with drug addicts & the drug of choice. It's scientific.

I agree with lovethelake.
I think it's also likely connected to how open a person is to the possibility as well. Either way, the work of building the relationship still needs to be there, it's just amazing to have such a great connection as. jumping off point. As time goes by and the feelings continue to grow, it feels more and more like you always loved each other.
I think most of us have felt "lust" at first sight and know the difference.

I think if it happens at first sight it isn't love , could turn into love but it don't start that way! Love comes of a lot of things between the two of you, lust never turns into love! its really not easy to tell apart at first until you actually grow together or apart then its a little easier to separate. If you fall head over heals for someone at first sight its most likely lust overall it ill come to light!

I have never really felt LOVE at first sight...but, I'll share with you the only time I've come close to having that feeling:
When I met my current boyfriend, I felt VERY COMFORTABLE to just talk to him from the moment I saw him... and the first time he took me to his house (I know this is going to sound strange...but) FROM THE MOMENT HE OPENED HIS FRONT DOOR, I had this overwhelming feeling that i was "WHERE I BELONGED"... and here i am nearly 2 years later, STILL feeling like I belong "there"... that i belong with HIM.
(I want to clarify something immediately, his house is NOTHING SPECIAL... in fact, it's NOT the kind of place I would have ever pictured myself feeling comfortable, UNTIL THAT MOMENT).

I agree with Petite. I think one can recognize attraction beyond the physical instantly, the idea, as she says 'comfortable' is something one can sense even before words are exchanged. I also agree with the earlier poster that said that immediate sense of ' love' includes infatuation, perhaps some lust, but goes far beyound that. Fortunately, it takes both to feel it to make it work and the other party may not be open to it. Real 'love' however comes as you discover the weaknesses of each other and decide they don't matter.
