 I'm here with you, also awaiting an answer from someone wiser and/or more experienced!
I suspect the man would give some sort of clear hint, or be direct about his feelings if they were more, but
then again, not always. I don't know; I have been in a similar predicament in the past.

When the guys are in their 40s and 50s you dont just go up and tell them "hey i like you for more then a friend" I wish I knew tho how to approach this one. Im lost too. lol

a little closer! By which I mean, make sure you are sexually healthy and prepared. Suggest dinner and then
watching a movie at home on the dvd player.... have big pillows on the floor, a couple candles, wear something
flattering. Worked for me! Never did see the end of that movie, got about 20 min into it!

 thanks everyone for there advice on my topic. But if you tell him you like him more then a friend and what if he dosent feel them same way you do. Then what do u do then? but dont get me wrong I know that it dosent always dont end up with that he dosent feel the same way you do. I know it could end up the same way that he dose feel the same way you do. I want to tell him that i like him more then a friend but i dont want to make a fool out of myself either.

 you got a point there alice. but they guy i like more then just a friend I work with him but thats no big deal . the big deal is that hes a manager . I think hes around my age. witch is cool. so do u think its still a good idea to let him know that i like him more then a friend. I think he knows that i like him but im not too sure though.

 Ah, the situation complicates itself......
How about indirect communication, like if you are out for coffee and say something like "I'd sure like to meet someone like you as more than a friend". and hopefully he will say "why not me?"
It's early - I may still be dreaming.

Okay here are some tips that he likes you more than a friend.
1) He laughs at all of your jokes no matter how lame.
2) He compliments you continually (You look pretty today etc.)
3) He finds sneaky ways to touch you like brushing your arm, putting his arm
around your shoulder or lightly bumping into you.
4) He is ALWAYS clean, neat, hair combed and smelling really good when you are around.
5) He straightens up his apartment before you get there.
6) He drops hints like.."if you were my girlfriend I would.."

There are more BUT HERE IS AN IDEA..Why don't you just bite the bullet and tell
him how you feel? He may or may not reject you..be prepared for that but if
he does you can still be firends. Thats the best way..JUST TELL HIM!

 Yes, you will have to tread lightly. I would attend (or start up!) any outside social meetings at your job... does the
gang go out for a beer on Fridays? Have a gym, bowling league, running team? What common interests do you
share with this guy? It would be ok to invite him (and a couple other work friends) to any event that strikes a spark,
work related or not! For example, if he mentioned he is a gardener, and there is a garden show in town, or likes
to cook and there is a great new restaurant that is getting rave reviews, or (though I never suggest movies for
first dates) if he is a movie buff, ask if he has seen the new Woody Allen flick??? Start a book club or discussion
group at lunch one day a week and ask him to attend. We had a good one, met one lunch a week and each
person could suggest a topic for the next one. Do not pick politics, stay with general discussions. I believe in
letting man make first move, but we must show we are receptive....
