I talked to god an he said if you paid money for them there books, they wasnt from him.
He says you can pick up works from him along the path, for free.

Neal donald Walsch Has opened some interesting conversations with this book. I enjoyed it very much. I think God's clarifcation of the ten comandments has stuck with me the best.

Very true Hill. When I asked him about them he said I shoulda wrote them, then people would be paying me.
Just thought of something. If I paid for a Bible would the same rule apply?

There was a lot in those books that I took to heart. Reinforced my beliefs about One God that goes by lots of names. And that God is everywhere, not just inside some man made building on Sunday am. Also, the part about God continuing to speak to all who will listen, not just the prophets from 2000 yrs ago. Probably the biggest thing we do as humans is to try and fit God into our limitations rather than open up to all the possible ways of hearing and seeing God in our daily lives. I don't believe that I need another human to interpret what God wants from me or for me. God and I can work that out on our own. It's pretty simple, all He wants is for me to be who He created me to be.

The question throughout time is what did He create us to be? As you have gathered insights what do you believe is your purpose or what were you created to be? Why were you created? What beliefs do you hold about our lives as you sift through the teachings of the Bible and other spiritual enlightening books? Let us remember that in conversations with God each of us hears in a unique way and so even if our beliefs differ we must be in agreement that God is speaking to us all, If we listen.

Hi Jon,
In my heart I agree with what NDW wrote about God creating us so that He could experience life through us. Why else would there be so many of us and all so very different? We are each divine expressions of God's love and as such that is all we really need to be. Every one of us has a clear picture of who we are, but not all of us are tuned in to what that is. Each soul gets there in their own good time. For example, I am a survivor of childhood sexual abuse. I have a desire to write a book about my process of recovery and acceptance. There are thousands of books out there on this subject, but not a single one of them will be identical to mine. And the book that I write might just be what one other person needed to read, which makes it all worthwhile. When I first started reading the CWG books I was struck by how much of it I could have written, had I continued to listen to God and trust what I was hearing. Perhaps that's why friendship with God was the first book that I read of this series. It opened the door for me to understand the other books.

Hi all..
Checking in as a newbie here.. I just wrote MHO on the thread "What is Sin?".. it correlates with this topic.. I have also read 2.5 of NDW's books, and felt in alignment with most of it.. and struggled at times to step aside and ask myself.. "what IF this is the way it really IS..?" And.. doesn't everything have a price.. somewhere..? whether it be in time, money, or paradigm shifts in our own thinking??

Welcome 2hb, I think there is always a consequence for any action, if that is what you mean by a price. The other thing I would say is that if a particular thing helps you feel closer to God then it's the right thing for you. I spent a lot of time looking for God. When I got tired and gave up God said to me, I've been in your heart this whole time and here I will remain. Works for me. What works for you? The interesting part is I don't think there is a wrong way to find God. How is that possible? Isn't that the point of free will? I'll leave for now with one of my favorite jokes of all time.

as a christian it is extremely impotant to remember that you are a representative of jesus christ one of the most visible ways you represent him. is through your speech or conversations it has been said that everyone speaks about thirty thousand words in an average day. that is a considerable amount of representation- especially when you consider the power of the spoken word, with our mouths we have the power to build up or destroy this should give you even greater motivation to weigh your words. before you speak them the bible shares some practical advice... when it comes to controlling the tongue below are some passages of scripture to guide you in this area.
1.think before you speak- you demonstrate great wisdom and care when you weigh your words[timothy 4;12]
2.control your tongue- as you learn to control your tongue you will be able to control other aspects of your life [james 3;1-12]
3.refrain from idle talk- we will be held accountable for every idle word we speak[matthew 12;35-37]
4.make a habit of talking about the lord- we should speak of our faith in the lord with others[acts 11;20]
5.keep your conversations gracious- we should speak gently and sensibly as we share our faith with others [colossians 4;6]
6.never use vulger speech- our conversations need to reflect gods goodness not the worlds coarseness [ephesians 5;4]
7. think of ways to encourage, praise, and build up others- as a christian you should use your speech constructively[ephesians 4;29]
8. use some of your speaking time each day in prayer- just as you make the time to talk with your friends each day you should also take time to speak with god[colossians4;2]

I think you have not read or seen converstaions with God and yet you have pointed out many of the very things shared and clarified in the book. In the book God simply answers the big questions burning in the authors mind and heart. The story begins with a man who is very angry at God and wants some answers as to why his world is so messed up. God is patient, God is Kind and he/she answers many questions that we all ask in the quiet moments spent alone.

Please bare with me on these answers as I have only thought of these things by myself. Most of the people I know are Christians and to try to talk about anything except bible is an argument.
I feel that we were created to just enjoy being alive. As I have spent time alone in some of the most beautiful places in the country, I felt so grateful to be seeing them that I felt this is what the Creator wants for us to enjoy his creation. That is why it was made all so different and each thing an individual.
Just me take from the soft whispers in the quiet of nature.
I also feel that the Creator is not controlling our decisions or directing our lives but letting us live and do as we wish. Otherwise I would have to think It favors some people and leaves others out of the loop and I don't believe the Creator of love would do that.
Like I have said these are my own conclusions based on what I have learned of life and that is all. I am not challenging anyone just wanting to get in on the discussion. I have felt very alone as far as thinking this way. And not accepting the bible as the only word or Christianity as the only way.
Jon I would like to talk to you about some of the charity work you have done when you all come out here.

Please know this about Us. I am a friend and care about you as a Christian brother as much as I know about you. So re-read my post with the heart of a friend please. What I was trying to say is that I do not think you have read the book Conversations with God by Neal Donald Walsch. I was also trying to say that without reading it you have brought up many of the points that the book talks about. I was trying to compliment you on your insight. You may expect nothing less from this man who calls you friend unless I am making a joke at your expence and then I hope you laugh too.

Hollywood this is about a specific group of books and people that don't necessarily believe the bible is the only word that the Creator has spoken.
There are other threads that speak specifically to Christians.
