I own some property out near Fruitland, the snow should be almost gone so I can get to it. That will most likely be my first trip of the year.

I'm hoping to go camping this next weekend - No where special planned, wherever I can get to first - the last snowfall is still sticking around up in my favorite places, but still planning on going up there!

Where do you camp, just there by home??? I spend a ton of time on my horses from willow creek/12 mile to fairview and huntington. I really like to just pack some beer a few snacks and a fishing pole, then pray the fish are biteing haha. I usually go alone, most don't like to rough it quite that much. The mountain man used to spook me, still does a little, but now I think we have a unspoken respect for eachother and just leave eachother alone.

Miss Persefani, we are not neighbors but awful close!!!! Pinion Ridge starts about mile marker 71 and goes to about 75 and is on the westside of the highway. My property is just past MP 76 on the east side. There is a mountain there, I pretty much own from the start of it to just about where the horse trainer is, then almost a half mile back on top then back again to the north then west again to the start of the mountain. My parents and Grand parents owned property on pinion ridge. Miss Coffe, its a couple of great stories, mabey Ill email them to ya later if you would like???

Truckerdude - Yep, I just pretty much stick to the mountains I know and love I go up 12 mile canyon. I used to live on the canyon road there in Mayfield. It's a beautiful canyon and I know I won't get lost, because I was raised up there. Maybe one day, I'll give camping somewhere else, but right now where I'm by myself, I'll stick with what I know...lol I do go camping with my family, but they prefer 12 mile canyon as well. It's close and easy to get up there. I'm interestd in hearing about your mountain man story as well

Oh you need to get out and get-r-done!!!! I can't imagine living without the Rocky mountains. There is nothing like the smell of a mountain meadow in the morning, surrounded by aspen and pine trees. A campfire burning low cooking fresh trout and bush baked beans. Eggs and bacon seem to taste best. Watching a small pond come to life at dusk with fish. The sun going down and long shadows crossing the canyons, and while your watching all that instanly millions of stars fill the sky. Miss Coffe you need to go and do it, you owe it to yourself!!!!
