You know there was an episode on Good Times where Willona dated this man with an hearing disability. The guy is rich.

I am Deaf male, so I would have to alter my answer to that question, I can date HEARING WOMAN. There, no problem. I also can date a Deaf woman as well. I am well fluent in ASL, Central American Sign Language, and can talk very well!

My ex-wife IS hearing. We got divorced not because of style of communication (talking/signs), it was because she and I are very different and that main communication (upfront style or really have to talk about issues) was the subject.

So, really, can date Hearing woman and marry her if that is possible. Will be!

That is great. Deaf, HOH, or what? I know ASL. You answered you know sign language and ASL? You mean you know SEE or PSE? I know both. I also know Central American Sign Language (Costa Rican). Of course, I am Deaf. I also can talk very well and read lips.

OP, I don't think someone's being deaf or HOH should matter. We all have something we'd like to change about ourselves.

But, as has been evidenced in a different thread- the only true disability is a bad attitude.

But now I guess I need to read up on Meniere's?(sp) again. My ears are shrieking constantly- seems to be getting worse.

My Migraine attacks do it, I know, but i used to be able to ignore it , shut it out- now it seems to be getting harder to do. I still try though!!

I have Meniere's. I can not even spell that name. It is one of most difficult name to spell.

Here are few self therapy I use for my condition. Sit up straight, breath through mouth and take it a lot and out as well. Keep repeating for a while till you feel its gone a little bit. There is another thing you can do is lay on your bed, same thing. NO pillow(s). But um, again, another way, laying flat but tilt your head OVER the bed and it will be upside down so that the blood can flow to your brain.

I am not a medical expert but you can ask your doc about those things. Each doctor will think differently. For me, I have neck problem and it can cause my headaches and dizzy spell--vertigo. So, I excerise it often.

I have problems with the dizzy spells as well. My dog always knows- she gets in front of me and "braces", so I have something sturdy to hold on to. She also alerts me to the oncoming Migraine attacks. Very, very smart dog. Fully trained. I trained her myself- when I realized what she was doing. She goes into automatic pilot and guides as I need her to.

Mine is more than likely from neck/ head injuries. But it can be a pistol to deal with!!

Thank you bridesearch- I am in a Migraine today- so that explains part of it. I'm going to try your suggestions- I'll let you know how they work for me. I appreciate any and all suggestions.

Just wanted to stop in and say hello- I've been on and off of here today. posted here and there, but not much.

Hope you all are doing OK. Take care -

Well, I took an introductory ASL course a few years back, and was able to use it enough to interpret for 2 deaf people in the ER at the hospital I worked at. I was able to finger spell whatever signs I didn't know, and I knew how to ask them "What's the word for..." I really enjoyed it. I was called into the ER when the hospital was in a pinch because their 3 interpreters who were on call that weekend, were not available to no fault of their own. I actually enjoy signing, but don't have many opportunities to use it. I'm trying to just get back into the working world right now after a serious illness and an injury. Once I do, and get a car, then I will be able to find out what I need to do to become an on-call sign interpreter. That's the plan right now, but I have no set goal as to when exactly I want to acheive all of this. I don't know how long it will take. So, in answer to your question...there ARE people in the hearing world who would date someone with hearing loss. Many of us start to lose our hearing as we get older anyway

I would like to know sign language so I could at least
communicate with someone that is deaf. I am working
on it now but need a formal course. I think as long as
you have a way to communicate it should work out ok.

I would. I don't see a reason why it would deter me especially if I felt I had/have/could have great chemistry with him.
