Can't post graphics or music yet.  Why the powers that be here have such strict and long term restrictions on posting things for a new person now is beyond me.   But .... but .... I'm not new, just a return/rejoin.  Oh well .....

Yes ma'am I hear ya.. and I just went and bought me a new big flashlight that is so fancy that if I flood out it floats in water.. how bout that?
NOW, looking at the weather pattern its going way west and to the panhandle. Im safe, but some of our old friends.. AKA swifteagle??? now lives in that area.. but he did evacuate before it even came close.. so hes safe. Koiboy now slipsden I think his name is?? is also up in that area.. as is Obnoxious though hes no longer in here unless hes another new name lurking... so yes, we have a few friends we know from here in that area.. keep them in your thoughts .. OK?
We went for Chinese tonight... yep, Im full

Thought I'd pop in to see how the animals are before I go watch my movie.
Thank you fishy for getting prepared. Better safe than sorry. Never know if it could take a sudden turn and head right for ya. Don't want to see anything happen to you or anyone else either.
Ugh .... my son lives in New Orleans. Even though he's not in the path, his area has still received warnings of winds and lots of rain. I know he'll take heed and take proper precautions but I still worry and love him.  Hmmm .... and he keeps trying to talk me into moving there so he can take care of his old mom. Not .... that's the last place I want to live!
To everyone in the path, you're in my thoughts and prayers. Be safe.

we have the watches too only because of the wind.. never know at the last minute what they can or will do.
Tomorrow Im also going to cook up some chicken then refreeze so at least I will have cooked food if needed, if not.. I will have my chicken for salads ... Ive got shrimp too that are already cooked and cereal .. but Im not worried.. after the one I went through last time, nothing phases me any more.

Looks like another beautiful day in these mountains. Perfect day for
outdoor things. Gonna try to catch some of the sunshine today.
I've been so busy..really haven't had a lot of time to enjoy the summer.

well looks like I missed the morning crowd.. was busy not getting out of bed early 
dreary windy and some rains here... though the storm is way south they said this is the beginning of it. We should see 40 - 60 mph winds by tomorrow. And they still havent cancelled school for this area.

we are talking a dinner cruise but not that weekend.. but I just think it will be great.. dinner, dancing on a cruise ship under the stars? Yep.. looking forward to it.
If we really like it, we may make it a meet... find a cheap motel close by and make it a weekend, like we would in Kissimmee.
Something to think about maybe for next spring?

wow, we went to the Western Idaho State Fair on Friday, hadn't been in quite a few years.. saw some really beautiful animals.. thought I'd post some pics so you could see some examples.. this is a Watusi, and those horns are huge!!

we have buffalo outside the flea market near me, that they use when they have their POW WOWs
yet, everytime I bring a visitor to the flea market and to see the buffalo... its like they go hide... now tell me.. HOW do you hide a buffalo?

They've had buffalo up here in Traverse City since I first moved there in 1981. The family that owns them - Oleson's - also owns a string of food markets - and a buffalo is their symbol. I tried to sell them on the idea of radio ads with a talking buffalo back then. I can still do the voice for you, if you want...

oh yes, we have buffalo, or bison, same thing, here. and they are related to the water buffalo, except they live in grasslands and the water buffalo prefer marshlands and are on the Asian and India lands. and the bison is much hairier. if you have ever driven thru Yellowstone or northern Wyoming, it is common to see them on the roads, and they do not get out of the way. and they can damage your car if you try to hurry them. they are sure big animals..

have you ever eaten buffalo? has a wild taste and seemed to be quite tough, but some really like it.. yucky to me
we do have a farm around here that crosses them with cattle and they say the meat is much better, but it is quite expensive.

There are several buffalo farms in Kentucky. Alicia you don't live too far from one. They raise beefalo. Also, have ostrich and llama farms.
Sorry, Alicia, there is also a rabbit farm. I managed to rescuse two one year. Kept them as pets here.

Nope. They used to have a BBQ in the summer with buffalo burgers to support the TC community college - but, now it's a regular college and I'm not sure if they do that anymore.
