I have a 2004 Dodge ram 3500 and just have it straight piped & k&n air filter and bigger injectors and pull a 30 ' trailer easily up parleys at 70 mph. No problem and I have pulled against fords Chevys and off the line I lose them and I don't go over 70 mph pulling a trailer and don't see them until we head down so I say cummins rules and there motors just don't have the long jevity That cummins has look at the records I let them speck. Whatever works for you, But if buying new It would only be Ford today as it has managed to stay American so far. Not saying many of the forign names are now American made also. But today I would never support GM Government Motors. Yes they once made the best but today 
Actually gm stands for general motors and fords were the first to outsource all there manufacturing to china that's why when you pull the plastic dash off one it says made in china at least dodge and Chevy are still in north America.

I currently own a little Ford Ranger truck, which runs really well, for a '97, so I'll keep it for awhile. But it is the first Ford I ever owned.
I love mophar cars, (before Fiat), the most. Especially the Barracuda, I owned three and they were fast! Also owned the Dodge Coronet, (2 door), another fast auto. Matter of fact, I love all muscle cars.
It's too bad there aren't any more muscle cars, new ones, I mean. All the new cars/trucks and they all pretty much look like new, to me.
Foreign? Not! Too expensive to keep, oh wait, I had a Tracker, (it was stolen), which at 100,000 miles, never gave me one ounce of trouble and still ran like a scared rabbit, when it needed a tune up! But, I became disgusted, because I thought it was an American car, but found out the engine wasn't.

Dodge can take a lot of shit seen it myself. But I like chevy for it's style and performance. But I own a 1980 ford f-100 with a 300 6 that is built to last can pull a trailer with a full load and vary easy to work on.
