Have you ever...faced an opponent and kicked his a** royally but noticed he wasn't fighting you back? Sometimes people don't return fire for their own reasons. And often more than not the offender was you not the experienced well trained martial artist that became your victim. None the less....as a victim of circumstances I've noticed something. The offendee gets all the respect. Lesson learned. A legal restraint on me yet there's nothing restraining you. Who's the bad guy? Apparently the top dog isn't so its obvious that since in this case I'm the victim.....your right. And my good training means not a damn thing. Sad huh? Now if you know something about the art-form of any given deadly style and you if you could stop bullsh_tting yourself for a moment......then you'd begin to understand something.......that victimized somewhat as I may seem the truth is that from a legal stand point I am renderred helpless. Yet I still defend myself every now and then, not against the offendee's of authority of course (laughing!). So...having said this....did you learn something? No I'm sure, likewise. My only problem is I actually am a good man*

Im an amateur fighter (8yr boxing worldwide for the Army and 20yrs+ mixed martial arts) tried Krav Maga and Systema for close to a year and truth be told it's only martials and self defense techiques that are combined. In other words its mma. I study boxing, wrestling, muay boran which is the ancient version of muay thai, jujistsu both japan and brazilian and sambo. If caught in a tight situation a combination of 2 of the above will definately do you justice. Id personally suggest muay boran or thai if you can't find boran in your area ( I study boran in Germany) and jujitsu.

I have tried different concentrations. Krave to me is the best. Im a blue belt in krav maga. I love it because its battle tested . Its best of several arts in one. From disarming any person with a weapon or defending any punch choke and kick. I too can become the aggressor if i wanted ti just pound the f**k out someone but its not my intent. Just feel sorry for the poor basterds that break into my home or try to rob me. Fear no man walk in peace. I think befor ppl brag about what they accomplished in other arts try krav. Belt rankings and all that shit dnt mean nothing when u got two or three muthaf**kers pounding on u are u gonna panic or f**kn survive.

I've trained in Krav Maga. Had to stop for a while because of my knee and also my bank account. I really miss it and ready to get back in. I need that outlet for stress right now. I got out a lot of aggression when I was training, I felt mentally and physically great. I'm in law enforcement so it was helpful to me work related also.

Around 2010, I wanted to become more physically fit and learn self-defense, which have wanted to do all my life. After reading a few books and checking online I started driving out to OC from the IE, just jumped into it, totally out of shape, ignorant ( I found a great dance studio nearby that had dance classes I could take to warm up to beforehand and justify the long drive by doing two activities). Watched a few classes before signing up. The Israelis did a good job of introducing me to their skill set. It was like every class was tailor-made to increase my knowledge and ability, almost seamless transitions and moving ever forward, even when it was a while between classes. Probably should have started running and calisthenics on my own, I think they gave me a hernia. And newbie chicks are not desirable sparring partners to the more advanced, I have found anyway, so it was like 2nd grade all over again, someone getting "stuck" with me and being gracious about it. (Not crying!) It was a great 6 mo. and switched over to a nearby world-class judo dojo (awesome instructor-7th or 8th Dan), so am learning to fall, grapple and shrimp now. Working towards my brown belt. But the judo is tournament-oriented and has too many rules. Need to be able to defend myself (avoiding if poss) Miss my Krav!

I currently train in Krav Maga and love it. My instructors are all current or former military/police. We have the belt system but also train at all levels so that we know what to do.

Seen it and heard of it. I have never practiced it, but from what I understand it's an effective system when taught correctly. I would definitley look for a teacher whose background is millitary, or police. You may also want to look into the aikisystems to compliment it's brutality with compliance techniques.
