I would have to say be content with the releationship. There are a lot of good posts here on this. As to the tax break to Married couples, there is a down side to that too, when retirement comes only one of you can collect your ss, was maybe 15 yrs ago a lot of long term Married couples, by long I mean 30+ yrs were getting divorced,(but staying together) just so they could both collect their ss and live good.
I think you can have a good solid relationship without the Marraige or living together thing. I'm over 50 and I have my home and many other things in my life that I am secure with and enjoy as I'm sure a majoriy of Men have also. My Dogs rule my house, lol, and I know would not like to give up any of their space .

both have thier up and downs but if u really love that special someone does it really matter weather you have a simple piece of paper to say that u belong to each other you can really be married by heart without a piece of paper

I guess I am a true romantic by nature and never will give up finding my knight I am seeking. But, having reached my present age and having looked extensively for the last year, I now feel differently. Don't think I will find happiness by marrying again. I will be content to find that special guy who enjoys spending lots of time with me. Someone that will be there when I need him and enjoys my company. Someone I am compatible with, both in thinking and life's enjoyments. Still seeking my best friend, lover and companion.Too much to lose at this point in my life. Too late to make up for any such loses from a failed marriage. Ann

Either one. A ring is just an object. The commitment is what matters.
