when i was in 70 to 73 there was a lot o dear john letters the wives couldent stand being by them selves & found jody ,,,,,,,,that was then ,,,,i ets in 73 found my wife in bed with another man that i called a friend,,,,,in ft hood tx. that wasent right,,,by the way nether had close on.,,,,,later.

Just because a girl is young and wanting to talk to a military man dose not make her tag hungry as my ex's friends use to say i dated a guy in the military for almost 5 years and was there for him durring his tours and after, PTSD is not a light load to deal with. I have been through alot of physical and mental abuse with my ex after he got back it is somthing that you have to step back and look at as a non military person and see if thats somthing your willing to go through. my sister and a large number of friends are in the military and they love the love and support of people wether there military or not.keep an open mind

I'm currently Active Duty Navy. I've been in for almost 6 years. I've done two deployments and lived in Hawaii and now San Diego.
I mention that because it has a little bit to do with what I'm about to say next. Where you are at currently has a lot to do with whether there are a lot of "military chasers" or not, from what I've seen. In Hawaii, there were a lot of women that if you asked around had dated probably half of the Navy base. In San Diego, a lot of men have to hide the fact that they're military to even be given a chance. I refuse to do that, as I'm proud of serving. That may be one of the reasons why I'm still single...
As to the people that are claiming that military men know how to treat women: that's not 100% true. I've lost count of how many times I've seen or heard of Navy & Air Force guys getting in trouble and losing rank because of Domestic Violence. I don't know the specifics of any of the incidences, but it happens. I mention Navy & Air Force because in Hawaii it is a joint base between the two. I never really went to the Army or Marine Corps bases often enough... Also, I've seen my fair share of marriages end because of cheating, not always on the end of the wife. One of my old coworkers would go out and get a different woman in every port we pulled in to, while still married.
Does this mean I wouldn't date a woman that's looking for only military men? Nope. I'd just be cautious at first until I actually get to know her. Then again, that's what I tend to do when dating in general, so nothing new or special there...

I am looking for a RETIRED military man in the Pacific Northwest. Must be military retiree, not just retired vet.
I am not looking to GET that dependent ID card, I ALREADY HAVE that as the widow of a 100% disabled, retired military man, we were married 44 years.
I am tired of living alone, I never did before, married at 18.
The government has made the new rules so that retired military are the ONLY men from whom I am allowed to choose and remarry, actually severely punishing me financially if I marry anyone else (civilian) and rewarding me financially if I marry retired military. Crazy huh?
I lose my ID card, all base privileges, and TRICARE if I marry a civilian, otherwise I have them for LIFE.
If I marry a military retiree, I lose nothing and am THEN entitled to the SURVIVORS BENEFITS (half his retirred pay) that my deceased hubby paid premiums for twenty years for me to get after he died! That would benefit us BOTH by being more income to the new marital union.
Anyway, widowed in 2008, I can Hope there is an old man out there who wants an old lady to love and care about him again. I don't want or need a guy trying to act like he is still 30, I couldn't keep up with him. I like to smoke cigarettes, (for 55 years) and that used to be ok, but not now,with a lot of people. I don't need an anti-smoking NAZI to contnually annoy me about it.
I am not looking for someone in perfect health, i am not. But as long as you are not bedridden or on hospice you are in the running. I still drive and enjoy garage sales, fishing, target shooting, OLD movies, dining out, scrabble," surfing the net" and cooking, canning and baking. I am a Christian, free of any debt, quite conservative, prepper, compassionate and generous yet able to make a buck spend like a twenty.
I don't know if what you WERE counts for anything except giving some kind of insight as to the kind of person you are, but for those that think likewise, I am an "advanced" licensed HAM, licensed private pilot, FAA licensed Airframe mechanic, graduate dental assistant, exArmy medic, former Realtor, licensed Cosmetologist, licensed nurse assistant registered, 7 years as IBM customer engineer, I love to "tinker" and fix stuff. I know how to weld or wire a house. I never pass up an opportunity to learn something new.
Wise as a fox and innocent as a dove.
