The thing about using Black Feather is that you go with a group albeit unfamiliar people and professional guides. So it is safe. However, it is a lot more expensive with Black Feather. I considered organizing a group of hikers to go on an Auyuittuq excursion to keep the cost down and I could not find enough people interested. I did alot of research and made several phone calls to outfitters in Pangnirtung(starting point of excursion). So I have a alot of info........latest maps, outfitter prices, overnight B & B, etc. The people up there do not speak much English, so it is difficult getting thorough information.
