I smoke for a whole bunch of reasons. Mainly because it's relaxing. Then there are the health benefits of which there are many. I used to be a drinker, but I think I'm done drinking poison. I'm going to stick to the healthy stuff.

Lots and lots of reasons.
It relaxes me. I'm nicer, lol. And it helps me deal with life.
After my son died I smoked a lot. And I mean, A LOT. I needed to be numb. But I'm not like that most of the time. Usually it's more like those people who go home in the evening and have a glass or two of wine... it helps me de-stress. Sometimes I use it to help me sleep when I can't, if I'm sick it helps me deal with the symptoms. When I get headaches, it almost always takes care of them. When I'm sad it helps me to not think about what makes me sad. If I know I need to eat but am not hungry in the slightest, well... lol. 
When I'm a little high, I don't get angry as easily, I can slow down and think things through better. If I get up and get moving right after I smoke, I may be more detail oriented than usual (and is that necessarily a bad thing??? ), but I can work my a** off even high.
I do drink occasionally, but not often. I would so rather smoke a bowl than drink. Drinking does not give me the same feeling of well being. Even though I rarely get hangovers, I just don't like the feeling as much.

man its all herbal baby. i am a athlete fanatic and i workout a ton. i sometimes smoke me a half a blunt or 5 hits of chronic before i workout and it like makes me invincible. people all have thier own opinions about the herb but i will tell u this tobaco kills when has weed? drinking kills, when has weed? a stupid a** psycho kills innocent people, a high person doesnt. u do 10 years for cocaine, 2 days in jail for a ounce or bail opportunity for many bricks... car accidents kill, a high person stays home or does one thing productive like shop or listen to music instead of driving. people in the world need to live off of statistics because not one thing i mention is incorrect. its real life, it makes sense. people again have thier own opinions but its a herbal plant remember. people say u go dumb, its up to u to be dumb u can either benefit from it or be what certain people say bout how it makes u dumb. personality matters too.. like some b*tch i dated (excuse my langua) she smokes with me and then out of no where she starts screaming and then throws up. is it for her? hell no. so to finalize this whole weed ordeal (like it matters on here) talk shit if you dont do it, who cares the mary jane isnt for you. for someone like me..yummy!!!! kush bombs all day haters. unusually it saves lives

Im 54 & I've smoked weed since I was 12. I work & am active in my Messianic faith. I enjoy pot.& use it responsibly (now that I'm older). It keeps me on an even keel. Folks who think weed is sinfull dont know the commandments. While we're not allowed to eat pork, all green herbs are given into our hands!

I've been smoking for 40 years. Looking back, I see that my reasons change depending on my stage of life and what's going on at the time. Nowadays, I smoke when I'm already happy; I like to kick that feeling into "high" gear. It's even better when shared with a man who feels the same way. I miss that.

It's relaxing and makes my life more enjoyable. I wouldn't say I'm addicted to herb but I do smoke occasionally. Not only that but it's natural and does have health benefits(besides the whole smoke part which isn't so good for your lungs).
If you don't want to smoke but still want to try herb out, you should look into vaporizers. I have one and use it when I have a sore throat.
Just a question too, does anyone feel like they get a 'different' high when you use a vaporizer? I feel like it's a 'cleaner' high and my eyes don't get as red opposed to using my piece.
