No offense to anyone but none of those are helpful. I will not smoke marijuana and sex just shouldn't be a suggestion.
I will lay down and close my eyes only to toss and turn for 2 hrs.
I don't want to resort back to Tylenol PM because its not good for my body. And apparently isnt effective because I took it last night and im up at 315 so I need natural ways such as a before bed routine, natural otc supplements etc..

go to vitamin world. ask for natural sleeping aids. meletonin is what i used when i was in college playing ball and classes my sleeping was erratic it worked. you take it.. you lay down and completely relax. the body naturally generates it. the supplement just makes the body produce more. of your working out hard the body should naturally try and get rest. try increasing the intensity of your workouts aswell

turn off your cell phone, tv, and laptop at least an hour before bed. the harshness of the electronics stimulates you and can keep you awake. it's hard to cut yourself off from those things, but has been very helpful for me. i have two books i read - one is usually more of a suspense/action/history novel - i do not read that before bed, i'll get too keyed up. the other is usually an autobiography or an informational book or a self help or a fitness book. i find that is usually very relaxing. i do not read in bed though. i keep all activities away from the bed. the bed is for sleeping. i was once told that the body associates activities with locations and emotions you get from those locations. they suggested not doing homework/watching tv/reading/doing paperwork in bed - because you'll assocate the bed with those activities. i also do enjoy some yoga stretches before bed, i find that helps me physically relax, which makes it much easier for my mind to let go at the end of the day too

Thanks guys but I keep all electronics off, it has to be pitch black for me, I even keep my phone on "Do not disturb" between 1030pm-7am. My workouts are pretty intense I just get too worked up afterwards and need to come down but im also exhausted during them bc of lack of sleep. I've wanted to try melatonin but its also not ok to take every night. I read every night but in the tub after I workout im in such a bind, it sucks. But thanks for the suggestions everyone very much appreciated!

Do you sleep during the day? Or anytime in the late morning or afternoon.
Perhaps you crash and oversleep one day? And the next day you will have trouble falling asleep.
Also you might want to try peppermint......they say it helps fall asleep.

Yes, try the sublingual Melatonin that goes under the tongue and dissolves. Also don't drink liquids too close to bedtime.

I never nap during the day, I cant sleep when it's light out. Unfortunately my workouts are between 6-9pm so I need to workout at that time, I try to get to sleep by 11.

maybe try buying and using a small personal size water fountain. I find the sound of the
running fountain very soothing. plug it in and just breathe slow and steady.
I also sometimes use a new age music cassette tape. I will play it at a very soft volume.
if I want to hear it, I have to lie still. usually, I never hear the whole side of the tape.

Well know one mentioned , you should start your days with a set routine, like waking up at the same time everyday eating breakfast everyday at the same time, on your days off try having curtains open and keep sunlight around nd less light at night before you would like to sleep. Light plays a role with mellatonin thing and brain senses. Try eating dinner earlier and , if you eat heavily, and you feel tired, fight sleep. Most people lay down. I've watched the doctors show, and apparently a glass of redwine help you get drousy. How bout a sound of wind blowing or water from those sound sleeping noise makers. Maybe your tired when you begin your workout do to lack of eating energy foods. this doesnt include any late night activities. Try starting earlier with your workouts, instead of finishing at nine. Your blood is still flown. Workin out gives you energy, thats I do it.

My days are all routine. I wake up at the same time everyday and eat at the same time everyday because that what work allows me. I don't sit and watch tv usually because I either work late then workout or go home change then work out and that last til about 8pm or 9pm depending on the day. I just need to relax and sleep. Thanks for all the suggestions!
