yes, and there is a website online that you can check out the price of the change online and see the value in that. cool. and you can later cash in on something too, if you know what i am talking about.

I got this free book in the MAIL and it indicates what are the MOST RELIABLE places to invest in GOLD, it is a small list. I never heard of these places.

Looks like no one is interested. because they dont understand my question. I am not investing in it because I dont have any money.

Has anyone heard of Karatbars International? This is where I have started purchasing my gold from.

The great thing is that you can make small deposits towards purchasing gold and have it shipped to you.

you need to look a bit more carefully. only coins after 64 that had silver were
the silver dollar and certain half dollar pieces. the half dollar only had 40% silver
makeup. be careful some of the kennedy halves I believe don't have any silver content.

Should have known it was a tv commercial wanting to sell. Seems to all be a big joke. The boss`s father in law lost a fortune on silver years ago and seems like it will never come back. Kind of like when you used to get interest on your money from the bank. If I bought gold it would be used for an anchor. Will have to check it closer.

While investing in gold or silver has some advantages as a hedge against inflation or money printing, so do a number of other assets. The real problems with purchasing actual gold or silver include determining the actual gold or silver content and then were to safely store it. Most of the places who advertise to sell gold or silver are more interested in their profit markup than you acquiring an appreciable asset. I can look at the ad above on my computer - Silver Canadian Maple Leafs, $1.99 over spot.

Taken from Wiki: Silver Maple Leafs differ from their Canadian Gold and Platinum Maple Leaf counterparts in that collector demand generates prices well above and beyond bullion value. In particular, the 1996 and 1997 versions fetched very high prices due to limited mintages (for example, in 1997 just under 101,000 Maple Leafs were minted, in comparison with more than 1.2 million minted in 1999 and the record 17.8 million minted for 2010).

Bottom line: If you are going to invest in gold, silver, or other precious metals, make damn sure you know what you are doing!!!

Stupid (or uninformed) people have lost lots of money over the years. You may consider it personal opinion but may I remind you of: the dot com bubble, the Hunt brothers and silver, Enron, and Bernie Madoff? I think they all cost the average and sometimes smart investors lots of money. I would almost bet that you are holding a bunch of bond funds that are going to lose money over the next 5 years. Your choice, not my problem!

When you speak of "investing", you should only be referring to bullion. If you are purchasing coins, that is COLLECTING! Coins (especially so-called limited edition) are always marked up higher than the the value of gold/silver content they posses.

not true! only a few coins made post '64 are only 40% silver with the exception of the
silver dollar. Also use extreme care when buying proof sets. buy yorself a good coin book before you buy any sets!

Yea 65 to 69 coins seem to be 40% silver. Found a few ounces in the change so going to see what the local buyer will give tomorrow. Hopefully it and the $26 winning cash explosion tickets will get me 60 more. Hate myself for not buying a gold necklace back when it was a few hundred per ounce. Yea if I died they probably wouldn`t bury me with it.

Ok bad day but it was a paid day off and a bonus week. Drove to Bucyrus twice since Galion has no real stores and missed a bag of the most important things at walmart. That was one and a half hours of driving. Left the pc at the repair shop and the price will probably be twice what I was told. You are right only Kennedy halves are 40% silver so lost my a** on them and lottery tics. The local buyer of silver will only pay 50% 14 times face value and says there are 2 big silver holders that run the market. Says they might crash the price if it hits $43 and buy back at $28. They will make millions. Sounds a lot like the stock market.

I would like to learn how to melt down old broken cell phones and computer parts to get the gold off of them. I know a guy that buys out storage bins and get a lot of broken electronics and jewelry.

the problem is how are you going to dispose of all the biproducts?
they use silver in cell phones. much cheaper plus silver is a better electrical
conductor plus it is stronger than gold.

I’ve seen both used but as for the byproduct, depend on how it is might use it to make mini-sculptures.

Home grown gold I would take the money to the bank. Lol couldn`t make a penny if I had a truck load of it. Think it can`t get worse the next thing could be taxes on the money you have in the bank. Probably the only reason they don`t tax your couch is because it would cost more to prove what it is worth than they could get. It looks like it will happen and will probably be a standard unless you can prove otherwise.

The cost of starting up anything is high on just getting things need to run and the you have the government to deal with which cost more time and even more money.
