An Austrian atheist driver fought to wear his pasta sieve on his head for the picture on drivers license. After three years of battling he got his license. He argued that the the sieve was his religious head gear, a requirement of his religion, pastafarianism, Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster.

The Dagon priests wore hats that represented
the open mouth of the fish, as if it were placed
upon their heads - and the fish's body was seen
extending from that head and mouth, down the
priest's back - sort of like a robe.
So too, Even Santa Claus carries the Vestiges
of Ancient Fish Worship - by donning
the Famous "Mitre" Hat of Dagon.
WHERE DID THEY GET THAT HAT FROM ?
"The two-horned mitre, which the Pope wears,
when he sits on the high altar at Rome
and receives the adoration of the Cardinals,
is the very mitre worn by the priests of Dagon,
the fish-god of the Philistines and Babylonians."
- The Two Babylons ; Alexander Hislop; p. 215
Notice in the comparison pictures above
that the ancient Priest of the Fish-God "Dagon"
is wearing a fish robe - with the Fish's
head being placed directly upon the priest's
own head. The opened mouth of the fish looks
exactly as the "mitre" hat of the pope with
the mouth Opened.
"The two-horned mitre, which the Pope wears,
when he sits on the high altar at Rome
and receives the adoration of the Cardinals,
is the very mitre worn by the Priests of Dagon,
the fish-god of the Philistines and Babylonians."

It is Judgment Day. The Lord asks those who refused to believe in Him, "Why did you not believe in Me?"
The unbelievers answer, "Because, Lord, Your followers all wore funny hats, hats that we didn't like."
The Lord replies, "Man, that sure is a flimsy excuse."
The unbelievers: "It's the best excuse we could come up with."

Egyptian priestess
Egyptian crowns
There are many creation myths that have developed in various places in Egypt. Myths are all central to their story a primordial mound know as "the Island of Creation." It was the purpose of religion to recreate that time that caused the Egyptians to be very traditional in their beliefs. Each of the great myths of creation said the local temple of their god / s was the physical location of the island. Three great stories that have developed during the Old Kingdom were the Heliopolitan myth, the myth of Memphis, and the myth Hermopolitan. Each was named after the city where the myth developed respectively.
The Heliopolitan myth developed in Heliopolis and centered around Re-Atum as the figurehead of god. According to myth, Re-Atum willed into existence. The myth of the origin of Memphis in Memphis. According to this myth, it was Ptah who was the supreme creator god. The myth was developed Hermopolitan Hermopolis. Here, the god Thoth, god of wisdom, was the main actor.
According to Egyptian mythology, Khnum created the living beings on his potter's wheel. He modeled animals, plants and peoples of the earth.
A detailed description of how he created human beings is at Esna Temple. He then makes the respiratory system and digesting food.
The main creator god in ancient Egyptian religion was the sun god in the Egyptian language, the word sun is Ra, and it was a name for the sun-god, but he was also regularly called Atum, the word md complete ". name Atum seems meant to evoke any matter as concentrated in the creator before creation emerged. Creation is a process that unfolds to, with all the undivided gradually fission separable entities.
In agreement with the ancient Egyptians polytheistic beliefs Shu and Tefnut gave birth to the sky goddess Nut and the earth god Geb, and so the physical universe was created. Ra appears to rest while his son and daughters complete the task of creation.
In an Egyptian creation myth, the sun god Ra in the form of Khepri, the scarab god who was generally credited as the great creative force of the universe. Khepri tells us that at first he is nothing. It was the abyss known as Nu, where he gets later, the materials needed to create everything. By the use of magic Khepri creates land with its foundation in Maat (law, order and stability). At that time alone is Khepri. Khepri wept profusely, and her tears sprang men and women.

In the symbolism of the Sema ritual, the semazen's camel's hair hat (sikke) represents the tombstone of the ego; his wide, white skirt (tennure) represents the ego's shroud. By removing his black cloak (hirka), he is spiritually reborn to the truth. At the beginning of the Sema, by holding his arms crosswise, the semazen appears to represent the number one, thus testifying to God's unity. While whirling, his arms are open: his right arm is directed to the sky, ready to receive God's beneficence; his left hand, upon which his eyes are fastened, is turned toward the earth. The semazen conveys God's spiritual gift to those who are witnessing the Sema. Revolving from right to left around the heart, the semazen embraces all humanity with love. The human being has been created with love in order to love.

The Egyptians had the best head gear ..... notice how the head of the vulture flows into the feathered wings that encompass the head and neck of the priestess ..... most Egyptian headgear was designed in the same way.

^^Gorgeous picture. Notice it is a priestess also? It was the Israelites that put so much emphasis on a male priestly elite class. Whether or not it truly began with Aaron, the brother of Moses, is debatable but even to the current day, it's very difficult for female Rabbis to be fully accepted within the Jewish community. A lot of families tend to be traditional and will leave their regular synagogue to take their children to another that has a male Rabbi for the Bar Mitzvah or Bat Mitzvah.

ancient jewish hat
On papal suggestion made ??in the year 1215, some European rulers because to mark non-Christian minorities on their clothing. This was first implemented in France by a small yellow wheel ( Rouelle ). This is however only an imitative response to a practice of the Muslim world, the so-called dhimmis obliged to wear markings on their clothing, the ordinary Muslims to recognize it allowed them as members of a disadvantaged, but still tolerated minority. As such, were Christians, Muslims and dark-skinned Jews logically. You had to wear yellow patches on their garments. The French king Philip le Bel was also the model to ensure that the sale and lease of the badges were a lucrative business, wherever the scheme to bear (sic) came. Analogous to the Islamic model had now under Christian rule Jews and Muslims wear this badge. However, this was not true everywhere and there were a large number of variants and thus no real standard. 1361 was about a red-white color of the wheel set in France. In England, Jews wore in some places at the request of the ruler two sewn cloth in the form of bars on the chest, which should constitute the tables of the law from Sinai, in German lands are transferred to the "Jewish spot" with the wheel and then again typical yellow from pointy hat - Polish Jews, however, were here and there engaged a green bear Judenhut, etc. One can imagine that a Jewish merchant possibly multiple copies for different dominions and claims to be introduced, similar to present-day toll sticker.
Jewish Streimel
The shtreimel is the Jewish hat with the most mysterious story behind it. Today considered as a holy hat which emphasizes the divine in the head of his wearer, the legend has it, that it is the biggest sign of humiliation ever imposed on the Jews of Europe.
It started during the Fourth Council of the Lateran under Pope Inocent III. when in Canon 68 was proclaimed:
Jews and Saracens of both sexes in every Christian province must be distinguished from the Christian by a difference of dress. On Passion Sunday and the last three days of Holy Week they may not appear in public.
In consequence Jews had to wear a special headgear as well.
In the Netherlands and other European countries the outcasts were forced to wear a fur tail (fox tail) on their back
In this context Jews wrapped fur tails around their hats.

"we have the incontrovertible testimony of the Muslim mystics or Sufis, who have, in unmistakable words, spoken highly of the saving life-line as Kalam-i-Qadim,Bang-i-Ilahi, Nida-i-Asmani, Saut-i-Sarmad, all signifying the Abstract Sound (Ism-i-Azam), the one creative life-principle in all nature--the Kalma, which created fourteen Tabaqs or Regions. To this class of mystics belong Shamas Tabrez, Maulana Rumi, Hafiz Shirazi, Abdul Razaq Kashi, Inayat Khan, Baba Farid, Bulleh Shah, Shah Niaz, Hazrat Abdul Qadar, Hazrat Mian Mir, Hazrat Bahu, Hazrat Nizamud-din and many others, who all practiced Sultan-ul-Azkar (the highest Sound Principle). The Fukra-i-Kamil, travelers in the domain of Marfat, or true wisdom, bypass both Shariat and Tariqat, the paths of scripture, as well as Hadis or tradition.
Hazrat Inayat Khan in his book The Mysticism of Sound speaks of the creation as the "Music of God," and tells us that Saut-i-Sarmad is the intoxicating vintage from the Garden of God.
All space, he says, is filled with Saut-i-Sarmad or the Abstract Sound. The vibrations of this Sound are too fine to be either audible or visible to the material ears or eyes, since it is even difficult for the eyes to see the form or color of the ether vibrations on the external plane. It was Saut-i-Sarmad, which Mohammed heard in the cave of Hira, when he became lost in his ideal. The Koran refers to it as Kun-feu-kun---Be and all became. Moses heard this very Sound on Koh-i-Toor or Mount Sinai, when in communion with God. The same Word was audible to Christ when absorbed in his heavenly Father in the wilderness. Siva heard the same Anhad-Naad in the Himalayas. The flute of Krishna is allegorically symbolic of the same Sound. This Sound is the source of all revelation to the Masters to whom it is revealed from within and, therefore, they know and teach the one and the same Truth for it is in this abstract reality that all the blessed ones of God unite.
This Sound of the Abstract is always going on within, around and about man. Those who are able to hear it and meditate on it are relieved from all worries, anxieties, sorrows, fears and diseases, and the soul is freed from the captivity of the senses and the physical body, and becomes part of the All-pervading Consciousness.
This Sound develops through and into ten different aspects, because of Its manifestation through the different tubes of the body (Nadis), and sounds like thunder, the roaring of the sea, the jingling of bells, the buzzing of bees, the twittering of sparrows, the vina, the flute, the sound of Shankha (conch) are heard, until It finally becomes Hu, the most sacred of all sounds, be they from man, bird, beast or thing."
