Seems like I took one of the worst emotional beating this last week had so far. Have a Grandchild far away that is having an issue that I hoped would have been resolved by now. 40 years of trying to fight prejudice against People with Disabilities but this make it seem never ending.

If you are an adult with a disability be a peer mentor/friend for a Kid with a disability. Think it is lonely being and adult try being a kid going against this "stuff". You don't have to have all the answers but a friendly/understanding/approving adult would be nice.

of pain in the left knee.

Cortisone depleats actually affectiveness after repeated use..

It was never intended for the long term use they give it now...

Have they tried the cartledge replacement injections with You?

I cant use them due to an allergy but they did a world of good for my mom...

You can go anywhere between 3-6 months between steroid shots... How long did they wait on you?

Sorry you are hurting as are many of us... boo

Thank you missoldfriends. This is like the last option with
pain management the injections. The first one I got back in
Nov. 2013 in the left hip
and I couldn't believe no pain.

I was told they can last anywhere from a few weeks up to
3 months. This one almost made it and then got another one last month.
This one didn't do as well. I already know I need right knee
replacement (since 2005) and now found out last year I will
need left hip replacement.

What upsets me more than my disability is when others think I'm pretending or that
because I am disabled I am suppose to be unintelligent or bedridden. I don't think they understand the struggles and obstacles people with disabilities face. I try my best to be all I can be.
To post this to a disabled Veteran and to me:

"Only in America do we pay for others housing, heating, medical, transportation and groceries for people who have, or at least portray themselves to have, an intelligence that could have them working at a real job even from home, involving a computer and literacy skills, enough that if they can express/participate in dh with a reasonable resourcefulness to find and retrieve and provide common knowledges, they could also earn their own living."

I don't know who posted the clap trap you quoted but all I can say is Karma is a cruel teacher and sooner or later that person will find out just how ridiculous that statement is.

Do I encourage people who want to work, regardless of disability, IF THEY WANT to give it a shot ? Sure. BUT NOT if it is going to do them harm, make them suffer, or take away birthrights that they have as CITIZEN'S of this country by fair and just definitions of what we define as disability in this country to collect it.

Being able to plunk a few computer keyes to make a computer post, or many, is not enough of a job skill to get anyone hired in the reasonable definition of work.

Thank you, Peachy.
I didn't respond to her because I wasn't going to debate it. I don't want to list my disability or debate it. It would just make me sad.
I am proud of what I have accomplished and what I can do. I get people that aren't disabled asking me how I did it or how fun it would be to not work. No, it isn't fun. I would love to be able to follow my dreams and work in the science field. I still hope someday to have a little organic farm. Voc. Rehab fell through on me but I haven't given up. If you don't challenge yourself and keep learning, life would be so boring. I don't think an able-bodied person would enjoy being on minimum wage and not challenging himself.

Hey Col Sanders didn't get his thing going until after 65 so you never know. There is a thing here in California that started a Hydroponic Organic Farm here to give homeless people jobs. I will see if I can find the info on it. Maybe you can get a grant; things that employ Vets and or Disabled people in jobs that pay "comesurate" wages get special help from several agency's.

Guess we are going to get slammed tomorrow with pollen. That means a bad day for me if I even think about going out doors.

Hang in there with your treatments GalPal I will will you all the good vibes I can.

I will never allow myself to get a flu shot. you know that many of the doctors who

to me that is saying something.

It upsets me so bad when people say they will not take a flu shot. My husband died of flu. It was the one year he had not had a flu shot in almost his entire adult life. Strong as an OX flu took him down like a rock. If you are in frail health and think you can survive flu you are kidding yourself.

So I decided to walk a different route and be adventurous...I walk two miles every day unless the weather becomes Michigan putrid, and am steaming my way along the sidewalk when I hear a man's voice call out "Wait!" I looked around. I was across from the college campus and was carrying nothing but my VI cane and that was secure in my hand, so I knew I hadn't dropped anything. I kept going and the voice became louder "Wait!" I told myself "Don't stop..keep going..." My heart was pounding. Where was this man? I couldn't find another body around. Fortunately, traffic was heavy. The thought flittered through my mind that at least the crime would be witnessed..maybe someone would take a picture with their cell phone even.I gripped my stick, ready to wield all 3 and half feet of its' fiberglass self around when the voice came over my left shoulder "You may proceed with caution" I leaned against the crosswalk pole for about two minutes with my eyes closed. Talking crosswalks..who'd a thunk it?

Should mention I am new to city life..have always lived in the country where people just blare their horns at you or scream out the window to get out of the way.

hard breathing today so had to take alot of meds and nebulizer treatments 6 of them, and then laid down with cpap on which help keep my lungs open, but other than that, I don't complain. I am alive and still breathing, and that is all that matters no matter what is going on in this world. I am blessed to be alive, and others are worse off than am I. Kicked my arse recently but hey we will all get by with a little help from our friends. to old friends and new. Keeping you all in my Prayers. Hope everyone is getting ready for winter and will try to post some resources for the holidays and so forth. We are getting into election season. Make a little noise and let your elected officials know your issues and that you vote. Hopefully the wildfires will not make us all go up in smoke.

With the rain and sudden temp by like 15degress less is killing everyjoint I'm my body. From pachyderm to the pain you lay in bed kicking and crying cause it hurts. I take fentenayl diluadid gabapentin and baclfen nothing works. So I take like double dose of beneadryl hoping it puts me to sleep. Now I just started using the cream for joint pain. Used aspercream doesn't seem like it works. Then got walnart brand worked for a bit. I'm laying under blankets trying to keep body warm.

I have progressive Ms, fibramyalgia, depression, anxiety and what hurts the most I'm alone and would love a woman in my life. I talk to woman tell them I have Ms and they split. It hurts. Well I should be use to it cause my xwife left me after being diagnosed with Ms and couldn't work as a eletrican and firefighter making 70g a year. What a money sucking beach.

Any suggestions? Move to Florida???

Shitty... Been crying the last two days... Things have been piling up.. between finances and family I want it all to just stop... I keep trying to figure out if it is all worth it... They keep saying it gets better and I tell them no it doesn't... It has only gotten worse over the years and having the ECT treatments in March was the worse. I wish I would have know what I was getting myself in to.. Wish I had someone here, in person on days like today to just sit with me and talk with me and give me a hug... Ya know? But I don't.. And my family, 3 miles away is just to busy... oh well...

They keep telling me it gets better...I keep asking when? Like when the rite medication is given? or when i'm sleeping and don't know it? or when i'm finally gone and it's better for everyone that no one has to worry about me? Sick of this crap. I know other people have it worse than I do, but come on... All I want to do anymore is lay in bed and fade away.

Quote from voodoogirl13:
They keep telling me it gets better...I keep asking when? Like when the rite medication is given? or when i'm sleeping and don't know it? or when i'm finally gone and it's better for everyone that no one has to worry about me? Sick of this crap. I know other people have it worse than I do, but come on... All I want to do anymore is lay in bed and fade away.

I know that feeling quite intimately. I sometimes get SO tired of hurting which prohibits me from having a life, that I wish I could just lay down and float away forever.......But then I get an occasional day or two when the pain subsides and I am glad to be alive again......

Gentlebear...I had two ok days...The last two I made myself get up and do things. Christmas is coming and I decorate the day after Thanksgiving every year so I clean everything this week. I also went to my storage shed and got all my decorations today since we are getting a lot of snow on Wednesday. But, recently I stopped coloring again for an unforeseen reason and I wanted to try tonight. Well I had a panic attack. It is now going on 11pm and I've taken 2 Hydroxyzines to ease the attack. My hearts been racing since 830pm. It's crazy. I probably should have gone to the hospital, but I hate hospitals. I just hope this doesn't happen every time I attempt to color...I can't not color...

I've had a Migraine for days
Cold weather is making arthritis unbearable.
Lost my glass's for a few days
Turned my house up side down looking for them
My 2 yr old niece hid them in my guitar !
