Why don’t they just legalize the two? Keep both illegal just puts more people in harms way. I know why some don’t want to legalize it because or moral reason but when you look at things that are illegal, the black market makes it worst.
First let’s look at gambling. In my state people are not aloud to have poker machines but yet it is ok for the state to have a lottery. Why is ok for the State to have a monopoly on gambling? I heard the argument that if they legalize gambling in general that many people will loose their homes. It that really true? After all, in the paper they still post sports stats and people gamble on different sports games. If you gamble underground you run the risk of someone cheating and taking all your money or run risk of having your legs broken if you can’t pay. Face it; we all know of people that gamble so why don’t we just legalize it. Or at the very least, if you are going to make it illegal, then the states should not be able to run their own gambling den in the name of an “Education Lottery.”
As for prostitution, I understand how some feel that sexual things are taboo and there should be a certain moral standard but you only put the women that choose to be prostitutes in more trouble. In parts of Nevada, where it is legal, they can call the cops if there is a problem. They can refuse a client and they have less STDs being passed around. It does seem weird that you can pay people to have sex for a camera. You can sell yourself to modeling and sports and event be paid the get you body injure in a MMA fight, yet you can’t legally have sex for money in most of the country. Many girls choose to give sex to different guys and it only is illegal if he gives her some money. Yet if you are dating the girl and having sex, you can give her money to pay the bills or different gifts. Where is the logic? A lot of prostitution can be found just using the yellow pages and the police over look most of it anyway. Yet when they do make a bust the news acts like they did a great thing in saving the women and I heard one new reporter say “jail may be the safest place for these women.” Really?
If you make both of these legal, you can now let all parties involved be protect by the law and can use police and courts to settle disputes and uphold any contracts. Also then you can insure the protection both health and property of all parties involved.

Just have to leave Los Vegas to find the legal prostitution. The Casinos don’t want people spending money on sex but at the tables. If you look at the legal prostitution, the girls are better off and protected then in areas that it is illegal.
I remember hearing a month or two back that one state legalize beating on sports game. People fuss about it will affect the integrity of the sports and yet for some reason they keep posting the stats in the paper that is used to gamble.

@Cowboy4672
A while back they did a study showing that many teens and people in their 20s practicing safe sex. I think I heard about NJ allowing the sports betting in the news a while back. Remember some saying that it was going to destroy the integrity of sports.
@cupocheer
Gambling is legal in my state as long as it is the state running it. If I wanted to just put in a few slot machines in my store, they would not let me. The state has a monopoly on it. If I had the money, I would put slot machine in my store and file discrimination charges against them if they try to shut me down.
As for prostitution, you can go to the yellow pages to find it but why keep it illegal on the books when 90% of it is ignored.
I know the real reason why police don’t want it legal just like they don’t want drugs legal. Police can get a lot of money from making raids on these joints. I recorded a video for a police officer over to DVD and you should see the piles of cash they confiscate on some of these raids, and all goes into the police’s bank account.

I say gambling laws are bullshit since the lottery is gambling and it is legal but to build a casino (in most states) it must be on Native American reservations and owned by the tribes unless it floats.
Prostitution should be legal because the only women who would do it would be women who CHOOSE to do it not like the women who get beaten into it by the pimps and gangs that run the illegal rings now days (unless you happen to be in Nevada).
