I prefer a man that has a sincere, genuine and kind heart. If he happens to have a muscular build, then great. He can pick me up and do me against a wall.

There's a lot of things that can go into it. Usually, it's more of a 'primal instinct.' Sometimes, it's culture and societal influences of what is attractive (in some countries, the fatter a woman is, the more attractive she is--and thin women are shunned).
I talked to one female model before--who most men would probably drool over--and she went and said that ripped abs on guys scare her for no real reason: they just do. The reason is because it's her preference.
I have a female friend who says she does not find any sort of muscular build (strong man, bodybuilder, athletic) to be attractive to her one bit. She did say, however, she thinks I'm attractive because of my hair, eyes, personality, humor, kindness, diversity, and intelligence.
Some women absolutely love certain body types.
Some women absolutely hate certain body types.
Some women will pursue someone with certain traits only--it's sort of like how a large number of women won't date a guy that isn't at least 4 inches taller than her (some women just LOVE getting to dress up and wearing heels when going out for a date). Some traits are a mandatory requirement for some, before they start bothering looking at the rest. Just like how you probably don't want a woman who does LSD regularly...it doesn't matter how pretty she is, how kind she is, etc...it's a deal breaker.
For some women, certain things are preferred but not mandatory--something of a bonus. Such as an athletic body type. Or 4+ inches taller. Or blue eyes. Or is wealthy and retired. Or has no children. Or doesn't smoke. Or is a great cook. Or is a bookworm. You get the idea.
And then, of course, there is a a certain line to things. Like, "I prefer a guy with an athletic body, but it isn't mandatory; however, I don't want someone obese." Or, "He doesn't need to be 7 ft tall, but I don't want someone a full foot shorter than me."
At the end of the day, someone will go after what they like. Man or woman.
Sometimes, a trait among men and women may be desirable to many people of the opposite sex.

For me its because I want an acctive guy doesn't have to be "muscular" but I'm just not physically attractive to fluffy men I have tryed and they just couldn't keep up. Its also 75percent personality but without a physical attraction it just won't last

Personal preference. Everybody's entitled to who they like and how they want to appear. After all, if you're going to start a possible relationship, wouldn't you want your possible mate to look like an ideal? That being said, an ideal may not be as perfect as they like and when the person is only limited to their ideal, that's where the problem starts......gamer

I personally think that a woman that prefers a more muscular man because strength is a sign of protection. Every woman wants her man to be able to protect her. And if he's strong then that's a sure fire sign he's a good protector. It has to do with feeling safe and secure.

It goes way back to caveman days. It's something built into most women that they don't really have control over. The larger men were the alpha males, the protectors that made women feel safe. A skinny guy can however make a woman feel just as safe by the way he handles himself. It's more about confidences, wit and just having a set of balls nowadays.

I have never gone out seeking the "muscular" guys I have dated all types I prefer a guy that can dress nice or a bit on the trendy side...as long as he has some sense of muscle tone lol Im good with that. I just prefer a guy that's taller then me. Too many muscles is a turn off in my opinion.

I'm attracted to guys with nicely shaped arms, does't necessarily have to be muscular. The arms have to fit the body, you know what I mean? I like the arms to be somewhat smooth,not big on the furry thing( a little hair is ok. ) I just like the feel of a nice warm pair of somewhat strong arms to wrap around me to make me feel secure, like the whole world is enveloped right there.
