If you go over $200, it doesn't make sense to me, a little more and you might as well get a good laptop.
I believe tablets are on their way to becoming the consumer choice vehicle for entertainment consumption and education as well. Add video conference.
Okay, it appears Office Depot has their model - Jazz - 9 inch, but I'm talking 10-inch - and other stores will gradually come on line. We speaking Android preferably Jelly Bean (4-plus), micro SD card slot so you can have your own stuff and not be dictated by large company glitter. Check Amazon and their consumer opinions. Check eBay.
Over the last two years, have went with Zenithink 10 inch tablets from China through a distributor. Any other suggestions?

I would would not buy a no-name tablet. They are usually cheap for a reason. I also love my Kindle fire. One touch access to all my movies and tv and music I bought from amazon. I paid less than 200 but it is a 7 inch and it was the best investment i ever made.
I think QVC.com has a few very cheap 10 inch tablet computers

I wouldn't buy a cheep tablet. I have a Nexus 7. I take this thing everywhere and with Firefox and flash installed, it's no different than my computer. I can even use my Magic Trackpad that I usually use with my MacBook. I bought the 3G version and have my service through T-Mobile. Because The Nexus is a Google tablet like my Nexus 4 phone, it gets the OS updates before anyone else.

I don't think you will find any 10 in. tablets for under $200 that is of any quality. To hit that price point, features would be missing and the chipset would be a single-core and outdated.
I would save up a little more and buy one that is of quality and name brand. This will ensure you get updates to fix firmware issues and receive OS updates. I would go with ASUS, Samsung, Toshiba, or Sony.

^^^ To the contrary, I have found and purhased via Amazon for $211.59 a
Newest Ainol Novo10 Hero Dual Core 1.5GHz 10.1" Tablet PC Android 4.1 16GB WIFI
It's an excellent machine directly from China. You can find positive reviews online and on Youtube. I will eventually write an Amazon review and link it here, plus a fuller review on my website.
I think US costs for tablets are rather exorbitant (and Sony, Samsung and others, expecially Apple). I think we should have our own manufacturing plants for these to-be popular consumer devices here, furnishing jobs and such like attached to new tech schools and blah blah.
Anyway, the Novol 10 is so far functioning well. It's my third cheap tablet and second one with Android 4, this one has Jelly Bean and is excellent response. I must remember not to sit on the thing.
One thing I am disappointed in, I will post as separate topic - the ereader.

I just wouldn't hold my breath for updates on the China tablet, but if it serves your needs then kudos, that is a good find.
I personally have an HP Touchpad that I snagged during the fire sale. I am running android on it and am pretty happy with it. It has the aspect ratio that I think android tablets should have.

If I had to pay over $200 for a tablet, I'd rather buy a netbook. Which is exactly what I did.

My parents have had a Samsung Galaxy Tab (thru Verizon) for almost 3 years and haven't had any issues whatsoever with it. They got it cheap by adding a line to dad's service plan (I pay for my mom's phone on my plan). The only downside to it to me is the data plan price versus data allowance (obviously data usage doesn't matter if you have home internet service and can run the tablet on WiFi, but they do not and the Verizon plan is their sole source of internet).
