I joined a gym in April and have been exercising about 4-5 times per week since then.
I haven't changed my eating habits, but am not eating more than usual. Went to the doctor and found out I gained 20 lbs. WTF? I thought exercise made you lose weight? Still wearing the same size clothes, tho. Can anyone figure this one out??

Muscle weighs more than fluff =) good job! My guess is you're really pushing yourself. If you want the scale to drop, you're looking for more movement and less resistance, but heavy, muscle-building workouts are also really good for building bone density. You could try alternating between aerobic and lifting to get the best of both worlds =)

Stop eating the double cheeseburgers while on the elliptical. Your not supposed to eat while exercising.

I'm just messing with ya, great job. Your building muscle mass. You probably had no muscle before, but you have been busting your a** and burning fat and gaining heavy muscle.

I've been taking vitamin B-12 which helps with metabolism and energy. I eat 4-5 times a day low cal and small portions and lots of water. I've been doing this for 4 days I'm never hungry cause I'm eating healthy making my metabolism work hard. I've lost 3lbs so far. I am working out a bit but not as much as I should. Maybe you should try this and see if it works for you. Plus the exercises you do might be just working your muscles instead of making you sweat and burn fat.
You can always do the high school wrestler diet. Lol it's the worst idea ever even though it works but I don't recommend it even to wrestlers.

Yea, you are gaining MUSCLE which is heavier than fat. If you want to lose fat then you need to eat less or healthier and exercise. Gaining muscle is ALWAYS a good thing. Good Luck to you.

Contact your doctor for advise. See a nutritionist to set up a visit and create an eating plan that you can live by and revisit them every 6 months. Talk to your insurance company to see if they have a weight management program like mine does. If they do get information about enrolling for additional support. My insurance pays for Weight Watchers
My insurance company pays for bariatric surgery and that is what I am getting soon. I am tired of the yo-yo dieting.
