In Oklahoma white tail deer are introduced and have done very good. However they are always getting run over on the road and cause millions of dollars worth of damage and insurance rates are high. Deer ticks are now everywhere and carry lymes desease and I have gotten tick fever twice. When I was a kid we never had a tick problem, untill the deer numbers have gotten so large.
I do like to hunt deers and they do taste good.

Introduction of a non native specieces can be good and bad,,, It sounds like they didn't de tick before relocation and the numbers have escalated to high numbers,,,, sounds like more hunting permits need issueing to bring numbers down in your area
here the mule deer population has gone down because of a foreign louse and they scratch there hair off and freeze to death and the state does nothing about it,,,, its all politics and money

We also have a weed called sirecea lespedeza, its a woody kind of plant thats only expensive harsh chemicals can kill. It was brought in by the government to help with erosion but it has taken over native grass and now theres hardly any quail and the prarie chickens are gone.

I agree about more hunting of deer. I have even advocated for free hunting of does. But the state seem like they just want the money.
A guy about 5 miles away got a special permit to kill 40 deer that were devestating his soy beans and will most likely get another 40 next year. The only problem I have with it is the animal cannot be used they must all be left for the coyotes or burried.
