That's awesome congrats!! I remember when I did my first half marathon it is so empowering. The most important thing is going to be your pace and breathing. Train hard and focus on your goal not how fast the other people are going. GOOD LUCK!!!

Hi-- I did my first one lat year about a year ago-- I completed it do not claim to have run it-- longest ruin i had done in prep was 4 miles-- i am older and way to heavy to consider it but i did anyhow. One sign i saw a couple times was and is so accurate-- " the pain is temporary-- finishing is forever--" and how true-- i still have a high from doing it-- am seriously considering a full one tnext month in des moines-- i might see you there??? ))

How are you doing?

8 miles, you won't have to walk too much!

Good luck! (I run too, so I appreciate this stuff! )

Never ran anything over 10 miles for time.

But generally every week fit in a 15 mile run.

I prefer barefoot running so a lot of my runs are in the 4-9 mile range. Barefoot running really helped me learn my stride and body. I found after doing some barefoot workouts my time got better and I had less issues with stiff muscles and side aches while running.

The long run helps stretch everything out.
