Why is it that over 80% of their emails sent to us get ignored and deleted? That was one mans estimate, and I think hes probably right.....

I am NOT attacking here, just trying to get our side of this out on the forums. I tried to explain to one man, as women,...we get tons of emails. Every time we open one? We take a chance of reading something that can be explicit, insulting, and/or just darn upsetting. And as far as pictures go? Sheesh, how many of you have gotten porn in your inbox! (I usually do NOT open pics, unless the person tells me what it is in the email.)

I try and answer all emails that come my way, because I think its hard for the men to put themself out there and keep getting shot down. That is just my opinion, though...and I take a chance doing this on getting one of the not so fun emails.

I thought maybe some feedback from the women on this one might help the men understand our side of this issue?

I will say that MOST of the emails I get are polite, complimentary..or pretty funny.
AND...I can usually tell by the opening line. The ones that are not? DO get deleted.

What do you say ladies? A little feedback for the men on DH?

Maybe cut down on some of those unwanted emails?

We can always hope...

Luvin
Thanks for the back up

The real problem here is one of balance.

Men want more sex than women do, and women aren't keeping up with the demand.

So most men are desperate for sex and keep pestering women for it.

Women, you're not doing your part.

That's right women, do your job.

This is an excellent question. I admit, I'm a guilty party here although I think 80% may be a little low

Here are some of my reasons for deleting an email:

1) Bad picture. If you present a bad picture, i.e., grainy, standing 25' away, wear a hat/glasses (what are you hiding?), just woke up look, or it doesn't relflect your true age then I'm instantly turned off.

2) A stupid pick-up line, like "how about a cup of coffee." If that's all you have to say, a cup of coffee won't help.

3) No profile info. If you don't know your interests, personality or what you like out of a relationship I'm not going to waste my time trying to figure it out.

4) Poor spelling and grammar. As a very intellectual person, I'm instantly turned off by those who cannot spell, punctuate or use proper syntax.

5) Desperation. Some of these emails reek of desperation! As a strong, confident, intelligent, and independent woman its an instant turnoff.

Hope this helps some of the men who may be having email difficulty.

Geeze, Lynn, what do you want? A Sonnet? You should be lucky enough some guy risked his ego even to approach you. What he has to say comes later, over the coffee.

And Desperation? First you create the imbalance, then you blame the men for it.

When you go to the grocery store, does the grocer accuse you of being desperate because you are out of milk or bread? No, he just fills your needs without judgement.

So why do you mock men for coming to you? They need female companionship and they thought you were worthy of their attention. How about you at least give serious consideration to the same? If there is no connection, so be it. But give it a fair shot.

After all, I don't see many women risking their egos approaching men.

Well, yeah, I can't say I like the company I'm in, and I of course overstated things, but the sad fact is that there is an imbalance. That should be obvious.

And of course, a Bad Attitude never helps, but what attitude is the Correct one? And by Correct I mean the Most Effective one? And what is the other half of the problem?

All I know, is that I never email body parts pictures, or male demeaning remarks in my emails. I don't have a problem getting a response from the few ladies I choose to contact. It's all in the approach and delivery.

Wow I have been here for a couple of years, and I see them (the guys & gals) come and go. Longevity must go for something.

OKAY GUYS, NOW HEAR THIS .......................

Act your age, not your shoe size

If you feel the urge to make an ass of yourself, insert your foot in your mouth. We're good at it, and nobody will notice that you are an ass

And finally.... I'll have my horse come and crap in your bed, if I hear you pissed of the (or my) ladies.... Oh, you'll be in the bed when he does it! It won't be pretty. Trust me!

Now act appropriate or go join D*ckheads Anonymous... Applications are now being accepted!

I dont get tons of emails- I just ignore
some of them because they are usually so
masterfully written I feel a little less brain challenged
against them. I mean how do you answer and email that
just says:

"Hi" or says "Your beautiful" or says "call me tonight at
1-800-suckmyd*ck"

Im exagerating on the phone # but you get the picture.

The emails are either one word, gushy beauty stuff or an invitation
with a perfect stranger to either call, jump on IM or meet.
You dont know me-
just be yourself with women -"hey how are you-
would you like to email and chat here" kind of thing. Believe me if
she is not answering you its because you are out of her
league and the sport your league is in has not been named
yet.

She is just probably not interested. I fail to see that she is
getting tons of mail. I think thats the excuse to blow you off.

I'm a deleter....If your just out for a romp...that's not me. I want to talk to somebody I have something in common with, for one thing. Second, guys put a little more on your profile then don't drink, don't smoke, how tall you are and weather you have kids or not...show some personality! And pictures aren't just for what you look like...it's how you present yourself.

Joke....guy goes into the doctors office in a tuxedo...Doctor asks him why hes where a tux...guy says, "If I'm going to be impotent, I want to look impotent!"

Guys,

I am NOT interested in talking about sex in the first 10 minutes of our corresponding.

I am NOT going to respond to shadow people who do not attach a photo or have nothing written in their description.

I am NOT interested in a f**k buddy or casual sex. I want someone I can spend the rest of my life with.

I DO have feelings and unless you can respect them, leave me alone!
