Why is it that over 80% of their emails sent to us get ignored and deleted? That was one mans estimate, and I think hes probably right.....

I am NOT attacking here, just trying to get our side of this out on the forums. I tried to explain to one man, as women,...we get tons of emails. Every time we open one? We take a chance of reading something that can be explicit, insulting, and/or just darn upsetting. And as far as pictures go? Sheesh, how many of you have gotten porn in your inbox! (I usually do NOT open pics, unless the person tells me what it is in the email.)

I try and answer all emails that come my way, because I think its hard for the men to put themself out there and keep getting shot down. That is just my opinion, though...and I take a chance doing this on getting one of the not so fun emails.

I thought maybe some feedback from the women on this one might help the men understand our side of this issue?

I will say that MOST of the emails I get are polite, complimentary..or pretty funny.
AND...I can usually tell by the opening line. The ones that are not? DO get deleted.

What do you say ladies? A little feedback for the men on DH?

Maybe cut down on some of those unwanted emails?

We can always hope...

luvin...I'll answer...

My intentions are in my profile. If I get an e-mail that makes it obvious that they did not read it, then I delete. I answer polite nice e-mails with a "nice to meet you". I opened one this morning that had the crudest message and I've never before met the man. Do these men think that these type of messages make us women say..., "hmm, now here's a man I want to chat with"...

For the polite men out there....don't worry if women don't reply, it's not you! Sometimes women just don't feel like it (I agree, not very nice), but it is just the way it is.

Keep your messages clean, polite and for heaven sakes...take the time to read their profile!

Well, most of the time, I get the same boring lines that I ALWAYS ignore. "what it do?" "what's good?" Those are very lame conversation starters and for some reason, guys send that all the time.

Also, I'm not a rapper from NY, so don't call me "lil mamma" because I'll delete it. No shorty, honey, sweetie, baby, etc. Those will all get you ignored and deleted.

I don't care how big your penis is, there are plenty out there. You seen one, you seen em all. Yours is NOTHING special, just 1 in the sea of 3 billion.

I'm not a tour guide, so don't ask. If you want to know about great places to go in Vegas, use Google.

A simple "Hello" followed by a polite introduction is fine and will get you responded to 99% of the time.

I get 50+ messages per day on My Space, and I respond to maybe 1 guy that is polite and gives a proper introduction. All of the above conversation starters get deleted.

I'm with you on this one, girl. I try to read the emails I get - I really do. In a given day, I've been asked to add someone to my Yahoo Messenger about 10 times - and then was asked to chat with each one. I honestly did not have time to chat 10 times. I was promptly asked if I was stuck up and what my deal was that I didn't have time. I was honest and said I had been asked many times already and then I was asked if I was a player??

I feel some days I can't win for losing. I have one man in particular that was sending me winks continually. I said hello to get no reply back. He kept winking - I said hello again and he blasted me for not winking back. Very childish stuff there. Another man put it all out there and said he was coming to pick me up, I had better be ready, and he was gonna do this, that, this....I told him I didn't know him and wasn't that kind of person and I got called everything but a white man.

I honestly am not putting myself up on a pedestal but I have to weed out what I think is not a good thing. Either that or I'd be on here day and night answering everyone. I've gotten porn that shocked the living hell out of me and I've seen quite a bit in my 42 years of living.

I guess my .02 would be - be original. Not the usual 'wanna chat' and swing right into Messenger. I have NO IDEA how to be original myself, but give it a shot. I like a guy that tries for more than the 'Hey you're hot..let's get together!!'

Not sure what the answer is here, but it does get maddening sometimes trying to find what you're looking for in all the correspondence. Just don't know.

If I can tell they did not read my profile either by what they say in their message or by looking at their profile then I follow the old adage, if you have nothing nice to say then say nothing at all.

If I get a wink I will look at their profile at the very least. If there is nothing on their profile, no picture, no description, just the basics of age, height, etc.. Why would I bother responding to that? If you have nothing on your profile yet, then at least say something about yourself in a contact email so I have something to go on.

Other than the above examples, I try to respond to all emails that I get and unlike some I suppose, I actually enjoy getting them.

That's why this site is harsh on a guy...

It's gotten to the point where a dude could post a opening line that is so relevent to a woman's profile, but still get shot down about 75 percent of the time...

And I think that's a damn shame...

Im starting to think that women are just preprogrammed to just reject a guy in general, reguardless of whatever line a guy throws out.

Actually I wonder do females even use this site to look for a significant other anymore?

Stop throwing lines and be yourself. Do you ever wonder why the very corny, nerdy guys get the beautiful women? Its because they can be themselves and don't care how they are percieved. Its genuine and he's not worried about whether or not the girl is impressed. I know guys that see beautiful women with the biggest nerd in the world, and wonder what she's sees in him. He's real.

So either be real, interesting, and original, or toss some money our way.

Tal...
Your not reading then!
Look up over your head and read some of the responses...that was my whole point in posting this thread!

You have some very good explanations of WHY...and HOW to change it!

You didnt read them before you posted...did YOU!??!?!
just checking...
because the ones who do post something relevant or funny, DO get a response from me, and from what I read above? From the women who posted too! READ....LISTEN...and react accordingly and your responses will not be the shot down 75% of the time!

WE WOMEN? ARe NOT preprogrammed for anything...we respond to each and every email on an individual basis...thats the damn point!!!!!!!!!

I may not reply right then but I always reply. Rude not to imo...no ones that busy or gets that much they can't be polite. As for the pics and garbage that come my way...to outspoken to let that go by. They certainly do get an email back, they just may not be happy with it.

Nonsense, this is probably the MOST putrid rebuttle I've read in a while.

We are still real and ourselves becuase that is DEFAULT....
I dont use pickup lines at all becuase of course they are useless...

But listen no matter what lines or genuine personality we use in our letters. Or even if we posses great looks and charm on our profile, women still control the situation.

And at least 7 times out of 10 they typical lady is going to AUTO-REJECT the guy.
Percentages do not favor us, becuase women have a fortified built-in skepticism factor...

Also how are are you females to determine what the make up of a guy is like over the first short email?

He could be everything you want and more, but normally he would not get a chance becuase more than likely his E-MAIL approach game isn't solid as his overall personality.

All im saying is that women need to delve deeper into a dudes advances and scratch beyond the surface of the awkward or bad first line..

So many good dudes are being killed off to premature EMAIL deletions and blow-offs..

And lastly, toss money your way?
Yeah you WOULD say that you insufferable GOLDDIGGER!

GTFO!
