I make this recipe at least once a week..sometimes I make one plain and the other I add diced japalenos and diced cheddar cheese.
I only make dinner rolls from this recipe and I have a secret ingredient that makes it extremely soft and fluffy..it makes one loaf so double or triple the recipe to make more loaves. One batch makes 18 rolls...
I use the bread maker on dough setting and let rise 45 min in the machine before making rolls.
1 cup warm water
1/4 cup sugar
1 pkg active RAPID RISE yeast (1 1/2 tbsp)
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup oil
3 cups flour
Mix warm water & sugar in bread maker pan til sugar disolved
Sprinkle yeast over water & let stand til foamy (about 10 min)
add salt & oil & stir
Add flour
Sit pan in machine and allow machine to do all the needing and rising (about 45 min)
Remove dough from machine and pinch off small dough balls rolling dough to smooth rolls
Place each roll side by side on greased or buttered cookie sheet
Brush tops with melted butter, cover with dry dish towel..let rise 60-90 min in warm place. Bake at 350F 15 min or til golden..

Secret ingredient....use 2 1/2 cups flour with half cup pancake mix!
Stumbled on this when I was a half cup short of flour..the bread comes out incredibly soft and fluffy..best bread you will ever eat..

this will be the death of me.
I remember going to this place called "Good and Plenty" in Lancaster.
You sat are long wooden tables seated next to other families and they brought out tons of food. All I can remember is the plates piled high with the jumbo slices of the soft white bread.
I am going to try it.
My family are big bread eaters. We have bread every night with dinner. I went from making this bread once or twice a week to making it every other day!..the kids gobble it up so fast, as well as their friends they bring home from school..
I let the bread machine do all the work except baking it. Good luck, I hope it turns out fantastic!.....Rebbie..

What if some of us don't have a bread maker
You will have to knead the dough every 20 min for an hour and a half allowing it to rise between kneading..the bread maker does all the work except I dont cook the bread in the machine..
