How long was it from the time you started chatting til the time you knew he/she was the person you couldn't live without?
Did you fall in love before you actually met him/her face to face?
Was it a gradual thing that grew slowly? or quickly?

I'll answer this one without my usual jokes just cause you're special 
I like chatting for a couple months before even meeting. I figure if you can keep your interest just chatting and messaging about your thoughts and opinions and how your days went there might be something to build on.
Because of this I don't put any stock into messages or the profile behind them for at least a month or more. After two or three months I might be interested in meeting just to make contact and then go back to messaging and try to meet up again later and gradually see each other more often.
Slow is important and you can't truly love someone who has not cemented themselves as a part of your life in some way.

yes.

it happened very fast. we have only been on one date, but i still park outside her house and watch her. i am hoping at some point she will give in and go on date two.

I find it sort of hard to fall in love with words and pictures on a screen.
Guess I'm just not completely detached from reality yet. Give it time and maybe that will change...

I talked with my partner about a year and a half. Before we ever met. Yes I fell for him before we actually met. I can't say how soon I fell for him it was gradual as we just started talking as friends since neither of us was looking for anything serious and We lived 1000 miles apart.
We met in August 2011 for the first time and have been together since I picked him up at the Airport. 2 yrs 4 months now.
Is this normal, no but I was lucky and really did meet the love of my life here.

over a year and a half? I wouldn't make it past one month without him agree to come to me and meet me by that time or I'd be gone.
I met my boyfriend over 15 months ago on a different dating site, not a free site. We met after 3 weeks of chatting online and became exclusive a few months later.
