Actually I wonder if it is a form of racism or whatever.
These days in general there are enough blacks who are lighter skinned of either gender, that either think they are better than dark blacks or look down on them or won't date them.
I find this Ironc as hell.
Op...I've been around a while and rarely anymore do I see blacks that are black like it used to be.
I remember a couple of years ago on here, where I true full blooded blackman posted a question. He had all the old time features and was literally black.
A lot of responders, either made some comments or laughed.
This "including" the more modern blacks, that lost a bit of that look....some acted like they have never seen that before.
I was totally appauled at this action I saw from the people.
So, I think your question needs to be revamped to include why do most people including blacks feel this way.
I'm sorry, but it is a form of racism....and if a black is part white, but is racist to whites.
What should we come up with to call that?

I think what you are referring to is the "Color gradient" This exists within a culture of one's own people...commonly seen in hispanics and african americans...
It is still seen today, I know...
The idea that the lighter the skin means more affluent and more opps...
It is ridiculous but it exists...
