I dont like black eye peas but I got chili beans in my chili an had golden hush puppies, nothing green today... oh well.. its all superstition any way, I eat what I like.
use to make ham years ago, mash taters and a veggie. Just me here so the rest of the chili will be frozen for future work lunches

never heard of black eye peas til I moved south... so made a bunch one year for good luck according to southern tradition... one mouthful and I about puked! eecckkk!
I can do black beans (not peas) if its mixed in something but wont go out of my way to make them.

mike eather but he loved them. I use garlic in my peas with butter on rice. Sometime ketchup. Have to find a good cook to make some real southern ones. That's not me.

I dont eat fried foods if I do its when I go out, like a burger at my fav hamburger joint but I dont fry at home. most things I cook are bake, boiled, steamed.
made a huge pot of veggie soup with kale in it. then added smoked turkey sausage to it. very good
any way, have a good day... going to store with kid for few groceries.... shes tagging along because Im afraid of falling....... been hurting that bad
